Being a proud British citizen myself videos like this get the national pride pumping literally the hairs on the back of my neck stand up goose pimples all over my body nothing but positive happy proud moments nothing brings a tear to my eye quickly than a bit of national pride I've already watched this twice I'm going to watch it again

In recent years, GB hardly ever gained a medal let alone a gold. With the introduction of the national lottery, our athletes were able to train without having to hold down full time jobs as well. So 2012 was epic for us 🎉

I hate sport, but the Olympics of 2012 showed the World what we in the UK are capable of. What a fantastic set of events it was. From rowing, cycling, athletics, etc the athletes ensured that Team GB put themselves front and centre. And Super Saturday, with its program of rowing, cycling and athletic Team GB Gold medals ... my god, it just never seemed to end! And our normally laid back, calm sports presenters were giddy with glee and amazement...

We showed how it should be done. But we had a great haul of every medal colour. 🏅 And silver and bronze were equally celebrated.

It was a fantastic summer. Thank you for making me relive it. 😄

I didn't really pay much attention to the olympics at the time, but I thought UK was third on the medals. I watched the opening ceremony for the first time recently actually. Turned out better than I had anticipated.
