Thank you, Robert! I'm currently in my first year of my career, and it can be quite chaotic, especially mentally. I've been struggling with maintaining discipline, particularly when it comes to my daily routine. My phone has been a major distraction (just like now). However, your content inspired me, and I am determined to make positive changes. You truly deserve a subscribe!

Correction. When I turn my phone monochrome, that’s when my iPhone is actually beautiful

Thank you for sharing your experience, Robert !
My digital detox journey started with an experiment of uninstalling social media apps, and it's been 3+ years since. Plus, I have programmed my phone to switch on grayscale mode @10PM, and enable flight mode after 11PM, . This has been a complete game changer for me, and my daily average screentime hovers around 1.5 hours :)
Using the phone intentionally has been really helpful for me.

I have to say that I have stumbled across your channel the other day and can’t seem to get enough of your videos! Great job Robert! SUBSCRIBED ✔️

Def agree. Quitting cold turkey might work, but probably not. Even reducing screen time 5 or 10% each week adds up over time. I’ve been having success these last few weeks getting disconnected. It’s nice :)

Thank you for your video, it's helpful and a lot of people suffer from phone addiction, I bet.
Myself I delete instagram time to time when I become obsessive checking it. Sometimes I even temporary delete account. I can do it once a year or 6 months so I think twice before returning. Plus I periodically use decluttering in the phone deleting apps, accounts I follow in social media apps, contacts, my accounts somewhere like twitter, bowser read later, etc. It helps me to run through all of the clutter that fill my life with so then I use the phone only when I need.
And I turned off particularly all of the notifications and left only important. When I feel desire to use the phone without any reason I look at the main screen, see no notifications and most of the time stop myself asking "What did I forget here?"

The only thing with this app is that you can still unlock the app you don’t want to go on you can go on your iPhone on screen time make somebody else set up a code for you that you can only be on a certain app for a certain amount of time, and it locks out I think that’s better

I've been looking at modern "dumb phones" a lot recently as a way to regain control of my time, specifically the devices that run KaiOS from Nokia. They remove all the distractions and take you back to the days where a phone was quite simply, a phone, but they also have some modern necessities like Google Maps, Assistant & Whatsapp (though I would miss ride services like Uber, hopefully they make their way to these phones).

I could buy a Sony Walkman for my music (yes, they still make those & they have Android / Bluetooth / Streaming compatibility), a nice compact camera for photography, a tablet or laptop for any actual computing & work I need to do, basically segment what my smartphone provides back into multiple devices to keep the distractions at bay but still accessible when I need them. I think this might be the direction I go as i've tried most methods that don't involve ditching the smartphone altogether but have had no luck. I have a trip to Japan planned next month though & I don't want to be travelling through unfamiliar territory with an unfamiliar "dumb" device, after my trip I think i'll make the switch!

I would lose that little yellow tag. I use a different app, Opal, to block me when I'm in certain places. At home I'm less inclined. I have a sorta modular charger and landing pad for all my stuff. I like to read at home.

Robert, watching your video again, wanted to know how you have configured your iPhone notifications and what other social networks you have installed. And I also wanted to know if you used the iPhone Focus modes. I never tire of watching your videos, they help me a lot.

Great video this video really helps, especially now the fact that there are companies that are willing to pay thousands to prgrammers (like myself) to make algorithms to keep us hooked
