I CLAIM NO RIGHTS TO ANYTHING!!!!! From humble beginnings, just David, John and an acoustic guitar to the epic track off of the mega-smash 1987 album!

I always thought that this is the worst song on the album. Still this is not a bad song at all. 1987 will remain the album that I listened to most. In 1990 I wore the tape almost out in my walkman

Don't get me wrong, I love Steve Vai's technical playing, Vivian Campbell's playing and Adrian Vandenberg's songwriting and stage presence.
But when David Coverdale fired John Sykes, it literally killed White Snake ....Sykes was a supreme power rhythm guitar player ( far better than Vai, compare Slip of the Tongue to 1987 ).
When I seen Vivian Campbell and Adrian Vandenberg play these songs live and what shocked me was that they fell short on the delivery and power John Sykes put into the songs. Vandenberg was great, but Campbell was struggling with some of the rhythm guitar parts and some of the solos.
John Sykes belongs in the same category as Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, George Lynch, Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton ... Sadly, he is criminally overlooked.
Doug Aldridge was the closest White Snake got back to the potency of John Sykes's guitar impact.
