I just now realized that the Kingdom Key has the negative space of the crown icon.

The shield makes beginning bosses easier. Those few Defense points DO make a difference. If you give up the shield, the bosses of the first four worlds will kill you in two hits. Only downside is no MP assisting abilities until extremely high levels. Staff gives your Stun Impact and Ripple Drive early on which are really helpful early game, but not so much late game. Plus you get Air Combo Pluses. Only downside is no Second Chance until Lv90 (srsly?). Then again, if you can make it to Lv90 without pulling your hair out, you probably don't need it. Sword is gives your all your ground Combo Pluses which don't mean jack shit because aerial attacks are better anyway. More ground combo hits will probably make bosses retaliate mid combo.

So in summary: Shield is for tacticians, Staff is for Magic spammers/Blood thirsty attackers, Sword sucks because ground combo pluses have little use and the Staff does a better job with damage output thanks to Ripple Drive which will last you until around Hollow Bastion.

I can agree with your assessment on most bosses. But, where on the list would you put the new added super boss that is The Hooded Man in Hollow Bastion? Where does he fall?

I beat Sephiroth yesterday and everytime I’ve fought a boss (not just Sephiroth)
It made me remember why I love KH

Rock Titan is certifiably THE easiest boss in the game. I'm pretty he was programed to do good damage as an intentional insult to any player who manages to receive it
