John Mellencamp performs "Cherry Bomb" at the Farm Aid concert in Raleigh, NC on September 13, 2014.

Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help — what can you do?

John Mellencamp is a real person with good heart, not just a celebrity.

My late husband and I would dance in the living room to this song. My girls loved watching us. After he died I went to a Mellencamp concert and yelled for him to play Cherry Bomb for an encore and he did. Not sure if influenced him but I cried when he played it.

Great performance, there is a lot of good things happening here the accordian and violin or fiddle get a chance to rock, drummer is smoking, guitars sound funky, volume changes are nice too, saved to my favorites and my 2021 play along, thanks, I'll be 73 in April Always play and listen to 60's and 70's rock and on and on it goes. Oh and I almost forgot, and John carries this group as the front man.

A real American hero. John is as real today as he was in 1975. Long live Mellencamp. Even if he is a Hoosier.

Remembering my teenage years -- dancing at the clubs, getting sick on Southern Comfort, fast cars, falling in love, and fun I thought would never end. "Seventeen just turned thirty-five, " Yeah, and many more decades, but I remember it all well. So glad for the 50s, 60s and 70s. Thank you, John and all the singers, groups and musicians -- the soundtrack of our lives.

this song will always have a special place for me in my memories, 1988, I was 22 yrs old, decided to travel for 6months with 2 friends, flew from London to Vancouver, great fun, then flew to San Francisco, more great fun . Then got a greyhound to santa Barbara . worked and hung out with some fantastic people here . working on a construction site all day and then party all night . this song was played all the time then and brings back all the happy memories of a great time

An Accordion, a Violin, a couple Guitars, a Bass, and Drums. And of course the sweet voice of John Mellencamp. Also, the violin absolutely steals the show with the heart behind the performance!
