The little voices inside Riley’s head know her inside and out—but next summer, everything changes when Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” introduces a new Emotion: Anxiety. According to director Kelsey Mann, the new character promises to stir things up within headquarters. “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” said Mann. “That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.”

Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. Actually this deleted scene is pretty awesome, I like how important stuff from the first movie is referenced here like the credit card Riley stole from her mom. It's such a - shame - they didn't choose this turn of events for the second movie, it would have been interesting, though the story we got was pretty good.

From the thumbnail, shame being a massive shadow monster in the depths of headquarters is an awesome idea. It could be cool if it revealed later that shame wasn’t actually a big monster and was like the one from this clip. Maybe in the third movie?

If they do a third Inside Out, I really think Shame should be in it. I feel like this sort of storyline (as well as Shame herself) could line up really well with the Deep Dark Secret character that was seen in the second film.

Also, think about it. Grace and Bree are going to a different school than Riley, which could possibly cause them to stop talking to each other after a while. Since Riley would most likely be older in the third film, stuff is going to change, and said changes may conflict with the changes Grace and Bree go through, which could possibly be the cause of this moment, something along the lines of Riley getting invited to this party and Bree and Grace getting invited to it as well without Riley knowing.

Expanding upon the changes concept, it's also shown in the second film that Riley is clearly ashamed of liking Get Up and Glow when asked about her favorite band by the Fire Hawks. It's also shown that she still likes Bloofy and Lance Slashblade, but those are kept in the Vault of Secrets. Why would you hide something like that? Because you're ashamed of it. Which means that there's a possibility that Shame is linked directly to the vault and that (if there's a third movie) that location in her mind could be expanded upon and become a big part of the plot.

I agree with the decision to focus on anxiety, but the dynamic shown between anxiety and shame is so relatable and heavy; I'd love to see her explored more.

Shame is a highly misunderstood feeling, like Sadness. It can be easily misplaced or overused, but to be shameless is to be blind to how your actions affect yourself and others. Just as you can't have Joy without Sadness, you can't have redemption without shame for what you've done wrong.

It can't be, one scene, one scene that shows us a new emotion, this only means one thing it says, they are making "Inside Out 3"

I believe Shame was dropped primarily because Shame is an external feeling. Others cause shame. It's not internalized like embarrassment or fear or anxiety.

I'm really glad with the direction they went with the actual movie, but this scene is very interesting and would love to see a 3rd movie where an emotion like shame might be introduced!

Shame is surprisingly cuter than I thought? Due to the behind the scenes concept art I had been seeing I imagined something scarier. She looks like she could be Envy's big sister? Because she looks like a child.

This scene is very mature writing, definitely good to see as older person, the kids might of been confused with some of that dilagoue though.
