Look at this picture, it is one rupees coin. let assume that Indian Government entire earnings have one rupees.

The high percentage of debt and liabilities in the government's yearly income, however, also means that interest payments constitute 20 per cent of the expenditure in 2023-24.

Then 17 paise of the 1 rupee come from gst collection, 15 paise come from income tex collection, 15 paise from corporate tax, 7 paise from Union excise duty and 4 paise from custom duties. This is the tax revenue for the govt. Also, govt gets 34 paise from borrowing, by taking a loan. 2 paise come from selling off assets(it is called non debt capital receipts) for example by selling air india or by lic. The remaining 6 paise are the non tax revenue of the government. in which the services that the govt offers that the money earned from it and also includes like income from interest, dividend from share and fines etc. If the entire spending of the Indian govt is 1rupee then, 20 paise are being spent on paying interest , 17 paise are being spent on the schemes of the central government, 16 paise are being spent on state share of taxes and duties, 9 paise for the finance commission, 9 paise for central sponsored schemes, 7 paise for subsidies, 8 paise for defense , 4 paise for pensions and 8 paise for the remaining money is spent on the remaining expenditures.
