I joined the Army in 1977. I chose the infantry, but after doing a raft of tests I was told I couldn't join as an infantry soldier as my scores were too high. I ended up in REME, great times, but I always felt robbed.

I applied to join recently and got medically rejected, however they gave me the opportunity to appeal. So I've gotta get doctors notes for my ASD, and to confirm I'm all clear from mental health struggles; I've gotta get an orthodontist note to confirm I no longer wear or need braces, and lastly I need to get my iron levels back up without supplments and prove it through blood test results. Sending the appeal off in april.

The barb test is the easiest test known to man lol and I didn't do any fitness before selection, scraped in a 10.28 run time but during training that time trimmed down to 9.10

This might seem like a stupid question: but if I join a regiment as a reserve, won't I have to report for duty there every week? I would love to join the guards as I like the ceremonial duties, etc. but I don't live in London. Seems like I would have to either join my local regiment or move to London if I wanted to be in the Guards. Is there a way to join a regiment like the guards that is based in london while living in somewhere like the midlands, etc.?

Got my assessment this weekend. I’ve been told I might have to do functional skills before I can start basic due to not having GCSEs. I’ve also been told I can complete it during basic. Do you no which one is correct? Thanks in advance and love the videos 👍🏽

I'm an ex paratrooper, , all I've got to say is, ,get a trade, , to begin with the money is shit, the accommodation is shit, the food is shit, , and the when show is shit, , dont fukin bother, , if you get injured, like spine or loosing a limb, , remember they don't grow back, , and you get no thanks, , so think hard before you risk your life, , and it's not all what these guys make it out to be, ,
