Castle building should be a high priority addition for this game. Developing your fortress along with your town would make this game 2x as fun.

Medieval Europe not having pigs was the most unrealistic part of Manor Lords
No more!

G'day Raptor,

A note on Veggie patches, Apples and yields: if the families who live in these plots are busy, large parts of the harvest are lost, especially for apples as they can only be harvested in September. So what I do to maximise the value is to make sure that these plots always have the extra living space and ensure that at least one of the families is unassigned. This takes a bit of micro and assumes you have the population to spare, but the value per family is stunning in terms of food output. For the apple plots, those families can be re assigned to other tasks after harvest season, just don't forget to free them up come end of next August. While this may seem like a loss of work force, they have a job, they are providing bulk food, and this is worth more than an extra family for hunting, woodcutting, trading etc in my opinion. 1 morgen is totally doable for veggies and apples can be bigger, so I'm not sure on the limits.

This is obviously just my observations and I'm hardly thorough, so ill admit there will be things that I've not considered. However, this has been really effective for my towns so far (not mega cities, mostly between 500-1000 pop). I've needed far fewer apple and veggie plots thanks to the increased yields, meaning more pigs, goats and eggs for passive yields. At 20 pig plots I'm getting 200ish sausages per year costing me a little in salt but nothing my exports can't easily cover. While its not much, it adds up and keeps variety without spending any development points.

So a few things:

1. Spoilage has changed and anything in market stalls is going to spoil exponentially faster than if it is in the granary. Recommend minimizing market stalls, as the remaining granary workers will distribute goods to houses.

2. Goats and pigs do not scale with burgage plot size. And the reason they don’t “consume” food to breed is essentially because they are factored into the household(s) they are attached to for food consumption. Only pastured animals can reproduce beyond the per family limit of 2, and right now only sheep and lambs can be pastured.

3. A good way to balance foods and prevent starvation is to diversify beyond the minimum 3-4 types for level 2/3 burgages. For example, you can have two staples (veggies and apples, for example) that are plentiful and easy to mass accumulate, and then diversify 2-3 additional types like meat, eggs, fish, or honey that don’t need to be mass produced to keep everyone happy.

I'm waiting for enemy building a city on the map, diplomacy, laws, cavalry, more maps, castles and walls. But pigs are nice as well.

Vegetables and apples. Meat is never enough for a large populous town.

For me what's missing at this point is bigger battles, because once you reach population of around 300 people, whole battle system loses its point. AI is never that strong to stand against you and that's your army from only 1 region. And challenging mode is also a bit unrealistic, having only 5 families who demand tavern with ale and you never reach that 50% to add up population dunno why is it there?

Game is great, but needs another year or so to be at a place where it's worth revisitting.

At 6:40 the town reminds me of KCD Rattay!

I would love for the horses to be converted to cavalry. It would make unit types way more relevant and make the enemy AI feel more threatening if you're going to spam crossbows

I love that we get either berries OR fish, and salt OR iron! Gives more value for trading between regions! Cool addition.

nah, the update that will really make a difference is the map generator; i haven't played it in a while because I don't want to get bored/sick of the game

13:44 I would love to see a mechanic to restructure burgage plots
So you can resize gardens later if you don’t need them anymore and want to build something new in the extension
Houses stay in place

Loving the Stronghold 2 music in the beginning. Didn't think I wouldn't notice, but I did.

1 animal should be more than 1 meat imo. It only makes sense. Should be like 2-4 meat depending on skinning
