Team Knight Rider (TKR) is a syndicated television series that was adapted from the Knight Rider franchise and ran between 1997 and 1998. TKR was created by writer/producers Rick Copp and David A. Goodman, based on the original series created by Glen A. Larson, who was an executive producer. TKR was produced by Gil Wadsworth and Scott McAboy and was distributed by Universal Domestic Television and ran only a single season of 22 one-hour episodes.

God, the nostalgia, say what you want about the writing but this theme slaps.

This had promise. The idea was always going to move into this direction; multiple actors and cars with various personalities instead of just one; it was a no brainer inserting a group dynamic into an already winning concept. Also, as a fan of the original show, I really got interested when the show went from episodical story arcs and bad-guy-of-the-day to digging into the past and revealing what had happened to Michael Knight. It got cancelled just when Michael himself showed up and things really started getting interesting. Such a let down.

The action set-pieces were the best part. After that, the occasional script. “K.R.O.” for one.

Saw this as a 90s kid who, in the early 90s, was fond of Knight Rider reruns. So a new series with not one but five "robot cars/motorbikes" was so cool to me back then.

Was too young to care about how different it was to the original or how the 90s CG looked (that was cool to me back then too, even though looking at them now they've aged way worse than practical effects).

The show was definitely an inspiration for the next Fast & Furious movies like for example the team of drivers driving hi-tech cars to fight against criminals. Fast & Furious too has a similar plot but instead it's family.

Die beste Serie, die haben richtig viel Mühe gegeben, die waren lustig und spannend. Aber irgendwie ist die Serie nicht so gut angekommen, das zeigt, die Leute haben nicht so viel Fantasie. Die Autos waren auch interessant. Mit unterschiedlichen stärken und Charakter. Und letzte Folge war ein offenes Ende, ich hoffe das jemand da weiter macht. Bitte

Is there anywhere to watch the series? I can't find anything on Amazon and all the streaming services I know don't have the series in their programmes either. I vaguely remember seeing the series on TV sometime in the 90s.
