Zoeva is actually a German company. It is owned by Zoe Boikou. Despite the company's overwhelming international success, the owner has so far resisted to be taken over by one of the "big players". So I guess that qualifies Zoeva as an indie brand.

To me, an indie brand is an independent brand that’s not owned by another company. Even if it’s sold at a store like Ulta or Sephora, it’s still indie in my book as long as they’re not owned under a bigger company’s umbrella.

i love eden perfumes!! nobody ever talks about them but i love how natural their ingredients are and that you can send the empty bottle back and get a refill to reuse the packaging

Thank you for mentioning perfume companies! None of my perfumes are cruelty free, but I want my future purchases to be.

I love when indie brands come into bigger stores. I really want to try Nabla, GiveMeGlow, Clionadh, Devinah, Sydney Grace, Blush Tribe, and Juvia's Place at some point. Most of the brands sell eyeshadows, so I would try them over time to not overwhelm my collection.
I have not heard of a lot of the brands you mentioned though, so I am excited to check them out!

Here a Spanish girl! Nabla is amazing! I only have single shadows but they are butter soft, super pigmented, and zoeva has the best quality-price balance, they shadows are a bit more powdery but still pigmented and soft. I would suggest you to check lethal cosmetics (similar to nabla but awesome too)

NOTE blushes are my absolute My current fave is “Desert Rose” which is a close dupe for Mac’s “Peaches”.

According to Angelica Nyqvist, indie is from independently own, they don't have to be small e.g. Colourpop was indie not long time ago :) And Zoeva is Germany-based.

Yes I definitely did that with honeysuckle as a kid too! We had a ton of it in my backyard, always smelled so nice! :)

I'd you end up trying more of these indie brands please post reviews. I doubt hear much about these and would be interested in trying some after my no buy year! I have a couple body products from Zoella. They seem pretty run of the mill, but not bad at all for the price.

I grew up in a small beach community in Southern California. My friend and I used to pull the nectar from the honeysuckle plants that grew on our street.

As far as perfumes go, there's a line at Target called Good Chemistry and they are soooo nice. All made with essential oils and CF and Vegan. The Bluebell scent and Apricot Bloom scent are my favorite and the rollerballs are only $12. I would definitely check them out! :)

When it comes to Nabla, I love my single eyeshadows, and blushes. The lipsticks are just ok. From what I have heard the palettes are not comparable to the quality of the singles. I wouldn't know, I never wanted any of the palettes. Killercolours writes about the brand on her blog. She has fair skin too.

The heritage store interests me because of the honeysuckle. I enjoyed honeysuckles as a child. I like the idea of the facial spray.

Nice job with all the images you included with the video!! 🙂❤️ I'd be curious to know if you'd consider Linda Hallberg Cosmetics as well? As far as I know it's completely owned by Linda Hallberg herself and the brand carries products that are vegan and cruelty-free (including brushes with non-plastic, hand made handles). It's been a while since I've heard anything about Black Moon Cosmetics, but in Safiya Nygaard's declutter/organization video she mentioned that it's the brand she has the most 'complete' items from 🌚. I personally own a fair amount of items from Nabla, and in my opinion I find their single eyeshadows to be of great quality, and I love the shades I have in my collection. Of the 3 eyeshadow palettes that they have released, I still gravitate towards using my singles the most. The liners and liquid lipsticks from Nabla are inconsistent, so that will come down to personal preference. I have no hesitation in saying that I hated the limited edition liquid lipstick in Bad Boy and it's one of the worst I have tried in a long time. Luckily they took that off the website pretty quickly, and hopefully have improved the formula since.

I have 2 eyeshadow palettes from zoeva and I love them! They’re affordable for the price. Underrated brand!

I totally did the honeysuckle thing as a kid. There were huge bushes that came over the fence at the playground at my elementary school. A lot of us kids would do it during recess.

I grew up in Virginia as well and I feel you on the nostalgia of honeysuckle- we had one at the playground at my elementary school and I taught all my friends how to get the nectar out :^)

I want to support more indie brands this year too; I just got an order from sugarpill from their huge Valentine’s Day sale and everything is just spectacular! Thanks for this list, I’ll definitely keep an eye out for some of these brands!

I don't know about the brushes, but you will not be disappointed in Zoeva eyeshadows! It's a bit more expensive than colourpop, but Zoeva feels a lot more mature, not so childish as CP.
