Thank you, I enjoyed that & subscribed. Today August 22 is the feast day of Eulalia of Barcelona where am I in Eastern Orthodoxy & it is special for me today because where I also am in Texas we have been desperate for rain. As one of Eulalia's other patronages aside from Barcelona is rain & protection from drought I'm grateful to say it is finally raining at this very moment in San Antonio after weeks & weeks of our aquifer drying up. Listen to that thunder. Thank you Eulalia, thank you Lord!🌧☦

I visited the cathedral on my honeymoon. I am not a Catholic but I do believe that many people saint Eulalia among them were martyred for their faith and should be deeply respected for their commitment to God. Seeing both the Cathedral and the Sagrada Famigilia was a deeply moving experience even as protestant Presybterian.

Just came back from studying abroad in Barcelona. A classmate & i decided to do Sunday mass at the nearest Catholic church.. happens to be Barcelona Cathedral. The night before my departure flight to Barcelona i was spending the night at my brother's house & my niece decided to have us guess who her fave saint was. She is 9- not realizing where Spain is (we're from Cali). Finally she explains its St. Eulalia- a saint she discovered on her own. Her mother explained, that saint is from spain.
I decide to google her.. long story short- her crypt mass was taking place at Barcelona cathedral the last night of our study abroad program.
It went from just attending Sunday mass there at that cathedral with 1 classmate; to 5 classmates
To learning the history of this beautiful saint... Searching for her geese, looking for her iconography throughout the gothic quarters, buying every little Santa Eulalia rosary, statue etc. For my niece, And having it blessed before her crypt mass (2 classmates were with me too so cool).. and being present at that mass for about 5 mins before having to leave to our last class activity
This was about 2 weeks ago and I'm still thinking about it.. Barcelona was a very beautiful experience for many reasons

Im so shocked I never heard about this story. I don’t understand older humans sometimes. How can you do this to a child

Heard of her a few years back but never heard the story. That was horrible and way too gruesome for a 13 year old

It was so strange to see the geese at first. I thought it was so odd they were there but it was very cool to see.

I always thought the 13 geese acted as a good security measure, mean fighters and noisy AF.
