Pulling back the locking collar with your thumb was the key for me. They don't explain that anywhere in the 2 page manual. Thanks for the video!

Thanks pal, I got the same tool and was getting frustrated. I needed to pull that shank back and tighten the Mandrel using the provided tool. Now I can install these running boards.

Thank you very much for this. I just bought one and the directions are incomplete. When changing the mandrel, it doesn't tell you to remove that big piece at 4:40. I couldn't figure out how to get the old mandrel off, and now I know.

Changing the heads was what i've been looking for. Every other vid I find shows setting a riv nut over and over. They always skip this part. Thx.

One key to success is using good quality rivnuts, meaning that they have well formed ribs to keep them from spinning.

The directions are useless. I failed with the coupler nut with two washers method. Struggling in Harbor Freight parking lot I found your video. Thank you! I had two failed attempts but over seems worth the money and comes with a case.
