Welcome to the next garment of my Regency era larp costume. This time we will start sewing a pair of short stays. In this first part I will show you the process up until inserting the cording.
This type of stays was popular during the regency period, thus it is what I will be using under my regency dress.

I am working on some short stays from another pattern maker. I want to change all the boning over to cording. I don't want anything hard in my set. Good to see this to see how and where the cording is on this one. I plan to sew my cording as I go, not pull it through channels. My vintage machine has an insanely narrow zipper foot and a cording foot. I shall try them both!

Just found your channel 🙂 the detail in the cording is fantastic! In all the videos I've seen of stays or corset making I've never seen it so well explained, thank you. Now to binge watch all your videos 😉

I'm working on this pattern right now :) So that video is really helpful, to see how others made this!

Did you watch the vid that red threaded did on cording with a zipper foot? I’m thinking of trying that.

Great video! I am making the same pair of stays.
may I ask where you got that wonderful needle to do your cording? I am been searching frantically for something like this.
