Excellent performance by Lee Pace.
It is such a great reversal scene, a human who has no soul, while a robot does. The realization moment is delivered brilliantly.

In my opinion that whole episode and this particular moment was the best part of the series so far

The most effective burn is the one that sears the target quietly over time! Demerzel just laid the most devastating earworm in Brother Day's ear!

I wish so badly that she could subvert her programming and go full SkyNet on Empire.

Most underrated character in the whole series

It is a true success that in reality we realized, no one can "be" an empire, a state, a society or community. To represent a certain amount of people and do the hopefully best for them is all a single person can do.

This was probably the highlight of the whole show, but would have been better still if the question of whether he'd had a vision or was faking it had been left open.

I'm really looking forwards to see how the series is going to portray The Mule when he shows up.

Do you think Dermezel killed Dawn just to spite Day for making her kill Zephyr?

The clone dynasty is the only thing in the show worth watching.

Wasnt he trying to look for something more than emptiness when he was trying to save brother dawn? They she stepped in - sort cancelled out this burn.

To me this scene is this : Demerzel never experienced the vision as she is a robot. And she knows he never could have experienced it cause he is also a robot created by Demerzel. Everything about this episode is about her faking a soul and him not having one and not really knowing why. Similar thing is happening in Blade Runner and questions who is a robot and who isn't ? What defines a robot ? What is a feeling and what is not ?

I doubt demerzel intentions now it is becoming clear she might have soul the chances that she might override some of her decision which doesn't violate her programming like she bow down to zephyr halima, after that brother day asked her if she really wanted to ?
Another example we can take out of this scene she confronts on such sentences where she can, besides her programming.

I also doubt brother dawn execution by demrezel maybe she know that there are some ways brother day can use to save brother dawn, the one where we found out that cleon the first itself had been altered.
Think all this
I can surely say she is just beyond a robot.

Well this put some context around her lecture.

In my opinion the true plottwist, will be the fact demerzel, the day she had her vision, decided that empire needed to fall.
And started planning its fall accordingly, just like the books.

Look what they did to my boy, look what they did to Daneel =(

In all seriousness, I'm hoping Season 2 is good.

‘Seeing nothing’ - I can imagine how this must have felt to God right at the start of things. I too would not wish that loneliness on anyone. Hence why life was created so that there was variety and constant change for good or evil. Makes things interesting.

I dont get the point of a robot walking the spiral. No physical pain, no suffering, no despair, not surmounting all of this no Vision
