For me: Jiyan's weapon. It's the key to reaching his damage ceiling. He's also my main, and I already built his team; my Mortefi (S6) is a beast, and I already have Baizhi built, and Verina is almost built.

If you play on mobile, and don't have Jiyan, I would say he is a solid choice. I know people dunk on him for being brain dead to play and they're right. But it's not a bad thing. The simple fact is he is easy to use, which counts for a lot. All you do is (1) Verina's resonance liberation and skill, (2) Mortefi's resonance liberation and skill, and then (3) Jiyan's liberation and then (4) keep Jiyan on field and hold down attack to parry, crowd control and kill everything on the screen. Boring? I guess. Effective? Absolutely. Ease of use goes a long way on mobile.

One comment on his weapon - it's great for more than Jiyan. It's Jiyan's BIS, it's Jinhsi's and Calcharo's second BIS. It's a great stat stick for Taoqi. I don't think it's fair to call it "niche", especially considering we don't have a ton of great 4* options to use in its place. The only disclaimer I add is that if you have e.g. Jinhsi but not Jiyan, the better pull is Jinhsi's weapon because it's better for her and Jiyan's second BIS.

I'm so glad I have Jiyan so I can get his weapon instead. At least with weapons, I know how much I need at max pity. It might mean that I won't be able to get Shorekeeper, but I'm willing to take that risk.

I have like 170 pulls now, farmed basically almost all the content in both exploration and events. I guess Shorekeeper is really good, I'll go for her and probably her weapon if it's good. I don't like Jiyan that much, not because he's simple to use but I feel like almost everyone do play him and feels like too common. I'm enjoying myself with Sanhua Encore and Verina for now 😊

Jiyan is really good. Dont sleep on him. Hyper consistent against bosses and mobs.

I value him more than my Jinshi for his QoL. I love his combos with mortefi

DPS problem is over for me. Jhinsi Xiangli and Rover is enough. Only think I should pull for is Shorekeeper and future 5 star sub DPSes

For dolphins like me, it's better to invest on hard carries. There are plenty of DPS units in the game, yes, but they're not as good as Jiyan and Jinhsi. With those 2, you will have an easy time clearing TOA, provided that you bring the proper sub dps. Shorekeeper on the otherhand requires a good carry for her to shine. She only becomes the priority if 1.) you're bad at dodging and parrying, 2.) you already have an S1R1 Jiyan, 3.) you like boobs.
