Installing Micarta Scales on ESEE Izula S35VN

How to install black micarta scales on ESEE Izula fixed blade knife.

Edit: it seems scout carry works if you only use two screws instead of 4.

🎉😊Hello everyone, I have the same knife, but I made the scales myself, from wood the same length as the handle and plastic one finger longer. Now I have three types of handles, the original plus two for different festive occasions)) And a plate a millimeter wide of which it seems there should be two, in fact, it is just a crutch so that the scales does not slide up and down relative to the knife handle when the screws are tightened. Usually this is an insert 2 mm thick and is glued or is part of one half of the handle. And in this case was decided to just make a stencil for the screws so that they do not slide relative to the handle itself. 😊 I wish everyone a good mood and sharp knives🎉. You installed the scales upside down actually, there is a slight curve to one side to match the handle shape. Scout carry can take 3 of the screws, also.

Hey Tim, Cool scales. I'm a pocketknife guy and have been thinking about fixed blades lately as well. Trying to decide between the Izula and the Candiru.

The S35VN Is sold out everywhere so 3 days ago I got the Izula II in 1095 with the OD green coating and it matches well with the micarta scales it came with. It’s about a half inch longer than the original Izula in the scales it came with are full tang but does half the hole! So far it doesn’t bother me at all. If I found the Izula in s35vn I would then buy after market scales that make it that half inch longer like the Izula II, but it would not be full tang anymore, however I think that would be perfect. You may wanna look into that? Knive Connection or Knife works overestimate them, can’t remember, but check it out. Cool video. Just subbed

Are these from Battlbox? You can get three screws on there for horizontal carry

I'd imagine 1095 sharpens like a hot knife through butter. I have no issues sharpening my s35vn pocket knives

Nice review friend. I agree that the open ring is not really a good look, nor is it all that functional in my opinion. If I could find a better use for the open ring perhaps I would consider changing to the half-scales in the future.

For now I see more importance in allowing a better purchase on the knife for the pinky, being that the Izula 1 has a smaller grip than the 2nd model. I like that for edc. You have a nice style, thanks for the video

You have ocd about the screws/posts orientation but you put the scales on backwards 😆. I’m just breaking your chops brother I do the same thing with my screws but I got the extended scales from TKC. S35VN is next 👊

Well I'm going to call him out on he said the the carbon steel was half the price than the stainless that's not true
