The 911, and porsche in general has by far the most complicated trim levels in the car business. It's absolutely ridiculous

That MC12 will be an awesome kickoff for Dougcember.

This was such a good video Doug. I’ve been feeling the exact same way about the “enthusiast” crowd around these cars and what these cars have become lately. The gt3 is essentially unattainable and the entire market has been saturated with people buying these cars to flaunt their wealth as opposed to what they’ve always been, being the holy grail of the ultimate driver’s car. Hope to see more of their models start to trend this way in the future

Keep making 911 variants please, I need to afford one someday and vast quantities will ensure that lol

That’s why I just got the Cayman GTS. It’s 5 inches shorter then a 992 911 lighter overall has a 6 speed manual with naturally aspirated 4.0 liter motor and is a real 2 seater with rear cargo. I optioned out as much electronics as possible and love the analog gauges and physical tactile buttons. My 2022 spec came in at $90430 it is the perfect drivers car.

i love the point doug touches on towards the end, re: the bar to entry of "cool" porsches progressively raising over the years, to the point where it's now "gt or gtfo", which is absolutely ridiculous. it absolutely has become a flex brand at the top end, where it's more about boasting you got the thing itself rather than actually enjoying it as intended- nowadays most gt3(rs) drivers care more about the social status/perception the car garners them more than anything. doug offers such a refreshing take on the 911 lineup and porsche as a whole- i love it.

At 11:54 Doug’s high-pitched voice spec rant was total gold😂👏

"Which 911 would you like?"
"Yes."

What a hugely entertaining and ejoyable review Doug. Bloody wonderful. This coming from someone who has ordered a GT3 in yellow and yes with yellow seat stitching but not deviated stitching - whatever that is - I'll ask around at my next stitching meet. Due to arrive around Christmas from my UK Porsche dealer in Swindon, UK. You've made me think! Thanks, Simon

All 992s come with PASM standard. The T and above give you the option to spec PASM Sport which drops the ride height by 10mm with revised springs and dampers which also has a negative impact on ride quality.

100% agree! I drove an S and a T on the same day on a track. The T still hangs in my brain as the best car I've ever driven. The one I drove at the time even had the red door pull tabs to reduce weight. Coincidentally, it was the same canary color.

Doug is the type of guy to have a cold and still gives us amazing content! Thanks Doug but please take care of yourself

I feel like the T is what the Carrera GTS should’ve been: a 911 that is focused on performance for the purist at a relatively good value, but imo the GTS has gotten too luxurious and expensive for what it really is.

Fun fact: In a survey of the ultra wealthy the 911 was found to be the most popular sports car to be in collections of owners who had more nine or more vehicles in their collection even if they had other very high end sports cars in their stables.
That’s how loved this design is. If I was blindfold in an empty lot I’d know I was driving one. Wish I had one.

I bought one, its really fast, with pdk, sunroof, comfortabel Seats. Amazing roadtrip car. It can have a roofbox, and because there is no backseat, lost of storage space for road trips. Turbo engine perfect for Street use, lost of power in the low rpms, when you come out of a corner at 40 kmh, roundabouts etc.

The Carrera T formula is spot on. I had a 991.2 T and was enamored with the driving characteristics. Looking forward to a 992 T.

It's good to see the old T designation. My first Porsche was a beautifully restored '72 911T. It wasn't as fast as the E or the S, but damn it was fun. 🙂
