Okay, the fact that rogue was meant to be the main focus in the movie is actually a little disappointing.
Anna paquin being an academy award winner at 13 while hugh Jackman is older than her, yet the movies greatly favored wolverine is just crazy. And rogue wasnt even fully accurate in terms of acting and shes very sidelined.

The thought that rogue was meant to be the main x-man is ridiculous. Wolverine was always the most popular x-man during the time I read comics. I mean he had his own super popular stand alone comic series. He was probably the first from x-men to get that. If they didn’t think Jackman was good enough to lead then they should’ve got someone who they thought could. On a side note they should reboot rogue as an antagonist and have her go up against captain marvel and steal her powers like she did in the comics

If people weren't offering other roles, which is possible, then there probably isn't a better way for him to stuff the family coffers. Smart business move. He's probably going to want a pivot point to shift him from Wolverine to a mature leading male role. Unfortunately, good scripts are hard to come by. And sometimes a script can be worse than no script.
