It was an eye opener that people making 100-200K are actually spending 5-10K on a bag/purse. I would have imagined that only people making $1M or more would be wasting money like that.

That lady is not regretting the price she paid, like you was telling you to stop repeating the price because people were around and she wasn't trying to be jacked

It's a shame Tristan didn't recognize Gay Talese (1:48), the famous journalist and essayist, who wrote for the New York Times and Esquire Magazine. He also wrote several books. Tristen passed up an opportunity to talk with a great writer who changed the field of journalism. Many people would love to have a conversation with Gay. He's had an amazing life and could talk about way more interesting things than what he bought at Ralph Lauren.

You guys realize that people can SAVE money for a purchase? Just bc someone's a truck driver or piano teacher doesn't mean they splurge like that all the time and are irresponsible and trying to look rich. They could've saved and budgeted for that one thing.

"Be able to afford what you buy, don't use credit cards". Thank you! This is my life motto. Never saw the color of a credit card and I'm glad I was able to stick to this principle. Only get the thing your current bank account can stand. That's why a debit card will always be enough for me.

Makes 75k and spent 11k on a jacket. Make it make sense.

$100, 000/year in Manhattan is currently equivalent to about $33, 000/year in most parts of the US. It's lower class.

most people buying these items realistically can't afford them and are living beyond their means

I’m like Ralph Lauren guy. Spend a bit more for quality but nothing astronomical just for status. Buy classic pieces that aren’t necessarily labeled.

Love the interviews with the publisher and guy from the carshop. They give you real wisdom. Maybe you can do a part 2 with one of them for a 1 hour full depth video about business and life.

I would change "Dont use credit cards" for "learn how to use credit cards" because my cards has given me more back than i have them, I've never been late for a payment nor have I pay for the annual fee, I just use the points to pay for that, and now I get disscounts on hotels on the card and also pay some of my expenses with the points as well
