More than 264 million people around the world suffer from depression.

Depression isn't someone who is just sad, sadness is a normal human emotion that everyone experiences from time to time and someone who is sad usually doesn't feel sad for more than a few days.

Depression on the other hand is not a normal human emotion, depression is a mental health disorder that is classified as a mood disorder, depression doesn't last for a few days like sadness, depression can cause long lasting symptoms such as overwhelming sadness, low energy, loss of appetite and a lack of interested in things that used to bring pleasure and joy.

Studies have shown that women are twice as likely as men to experience depression and depression can affect anyone at any stage in their life, it doesn't matter where you live, how old you are, how much money you have, depression can affect anyone in the world.

Common symptoms of depression include;

Persistent sadness

Feeling empty

Feeling hopeless, helpless or worthless

Loss of interest in actives you once enjoyed

Appetite or weight changes

Sleep changes

Anger or irritability

Loss of energy

Concentration problems

And

Unexplained aches and pains

Everyone at some point in their lives may experience or relate to some of these symptoms and everyone feels down from time to time but how do you know if you're depressed?

This depression test will reveal if you're likely or unlikely to be depressed, you are going to be asked 10 questions, please answer these questions truthfully and honestly, the 10 questions are based over the past 2 weeks of your life and you are going to answer with either yes or no.

1 - Have you been feeling down, hopeless or worthless?

2 - Have you had trouble falling or staying asleep or sleeping too much?

3 - Have you had little interest or pleasure in doing things?

4 - Have you had a poor appetite or been overeating?

5 - Have you been feeling bad about yourself, like you're a failure or have left your family down?

6 - Have you struggled to concentrate?

7 - Have you felt angry or irritability?

8 - Have you withdrawn from your family, friends or society?

9 - Have you put on a happy face to hide your feelings from others?

10 - Is it difficult to remember the last time you were happy?

Please do not diagnose yourself from this test, this test is to see if you need to seek help for the way you are feeling.

the worst part about thinking you could possibly, maybe have depression is when you mention it to your friends and they go “no. you don’t have depression. trust me. i know someone who has depression and you’re nothing like them”🥴

Hello Charlie! Thank you for your videos. Those who say that depression doesn’t affect your physical health are fools. Depression stopped me from leading an active lifestyle and I gained so much weight on antidepressants. Also because of constant stress I developed a severe acne on my face that I’m treating now. Suffering from a clinical depression for a long time may seriously affect your body and physical wellbeing. There are some researchers that also indicate correlation between depression and cancer not even mentioning heart disease and high blood pressure...

the way i answered yes to all of these questions and to all of the anxiety questions. I've been diagnosed depressed this year but have been depressed for almost 10 years now. this is so tiring because im probably also psychotic and im really struggling with everything right now. im 16, and i hate everything. you're not alone, and you'll go through this. someday, it shall pass. if you haven't already, please seek for help. I haven't told anyone for almost 9 years and my situation became really serious, please, stay well. take care of yourself, ask for help.

Authentic Mental health I honestly answered yes to most of the questions about testing for depression as I have commented before about depression on 1 of your other video s I have also done a few tests online about depression sadly I haven't been coping well with feeling depressed sence the corona virus and being in lockdown for a long time just a question for you how do I better mange my depression without any therapy or friends to talk to about it and family not completely understanding me thanks again for the video 😥

I got a 7, so yeah I have always thought I was probably a little depressed. I know I am not worthless or a failure but it just feels like that sometimes. I just took your anxiety test and yeah I got a pretty high score on that one too but I honestly think I overthink more than I'm depressed. Mostly I am just a sensitive person so I cannot really take this video at face value due to my super weird personality. And I mean sensitive! Never take me to a crying movie cause I will be crying at the opening credits lol. So yeah I get depressed everynow and then but it doesn't really matter that much to me cause it will pass in a couple of hours after I get cheered up again. I wasn't quite sure about the food question, I eat pretty healthily all the time and I don't think I'm losing weight but for the past year I think I usually skip breakfast not really cause I'm sad or anything it's just cause I'm not really that hungry or I'm being a lazy bum and won't get off the couch lol! I think it's mostly cause I wake up really late( usually like 10 or 11 sometimes) but that happens whether I go to sleep early or late because I love to sleep cause I don't have a lot of stuff to do lately so I sleep to keep from boredom.😅 Thanks for listening to the rant!
