It is a good idea to put another check valve on top of the pump.
It is not expensive, and it can save your motor.
The check valve MUST be right at the motor. Not at the top of the pipe.

How do I install the pump water lines to the indoor waterline and water heater?

I'm surprised how little protection is required for the underwater electrical connections, from what I have seen the US has very high electrical standards, yet a little piece of heat shrink is acceptable for electrical connections submerged, I'm assuming these are 120V connections ?, in AU connections like this require a minimum IP68 rated enclosure

Big mistake—- you need the proper wire crimping tool for uninsulated connections!!! It puts a dimple in the butt connector.
Also, most well casing is 6” schedule 40 steel pipe. Believe me, you will need a much heavier duty hole saw.
