Audi has already got some awesome tech included in their headlight designs… And it’s got some absolutely incredible plans for the future! But that’s not all - Mat’s been invited over to Germany to try them out for himself!

He’s starting off with a look at current headlight tech, looking at features such as the ability to project a ‘carpet of light’ in front of the car when driving at night to help make visibility as clear as possible. He’s also getting up close & personal with the Q4 e-tron, looking at the tech that’s included within its daytime running lights and how it’s possible to change its pattern.

But wait, there’s more! Mat will have the chance to get ahold of concept cars that include future light tech, including the ability to play video games through the car's headlights!!

With that in mind, we have just one question left - can any manufacturer produce better lights than Audi?! Let us know in the comments!

Just try and name better tech in any other car. We'll wait... 😉

All my life, I only wanted to play video games through my headlights on the road. Thank you Audi!

Car companies are now just looking for a WOW factor cuz when they all go electric, differences will continue to shrink

Maybe some day in the future this tech is so advanced that it can project the daytime image of all objects in real life and it looks like youre driving at daytime

You can see the projection really just is a projector, sitting as a fog-light below the main headlight.
It wouldn't surprise me if the "amazing" texas instruments' mirror element is a super standard part in all normal projectors and that the exact part is actually used in a $200 projector somewhere.

In a small accident with a small headlight crack, it'll cost 10000$ to replace a light. I prefer basic LED headlight that illuminates the road and looks nice, otherwise good tech.

In my current car, a replacement headlamp bulb is a fiver. Can't imagine how much one of these will be .... and they're supposedly saving the planet!

I remember when I first saw this car I thought the design was miles ahead of anything Audi had done before. I can't wait for the official release and I hope they keep the production version as close as possible to the concept. Those wheels tho 🤩

The problem with this kind of tech, particularly where cars do the automatic high beam/dipped when it detects an oncoming vehicle, is that to other road users it looks like you're flashing them or get blinded - @2:00 when it's flashing the lane to move into, the car in front appears to brake check?
What's good for the user IN that car isn't necessarily what's good for everyone else

As an Audi fan i am very happy to hear Matt’s appreciation towards Audi’s headlights.Especiallly “even Tesla didn’t come up with this tech”.
