Rangers are too up and down to get a good analysis of this game, but they played well against the Caps today so I’m inclined to say that’s an up day even without Lundqvist. The Caps did everything you want to see from them. Mental resilience, defensemen involved in scoring, Copley continuing to play well, and stars showing up when needed. Fourth straight comeback win for the Caps. That should be a concern moving forward, but resilience isn’t something we’re used to the Capitals having. This team is becoming every bit of the Stanley Cup champions they were last year. Concerns for this team include the low shot volume, and also face offs. Face offs have been a point of weakness for the Caps this year. The loss of Jay Beagle is proving more costly than many first predicted. One final note, Jakub Vrana should be in the skills competition for speed skate.
