Dii: Tuning an Unfamiliar D Minor Handpan

Dave tunes a D minor handpan. The scale is (D) A Bb C D E F A (also called Integral or Earth scale). The drum was difficult to tune.

My technique does not match the technique of the original tuner, so I had to learn and try new methods as the tuning progressed. For example, when I hit down in a certain spot, the pitch should go up, but in this case, the pitch went down. This happened regularly, so I assume that the original tuner does this intentionally. It’s not wrong. It is just different.

My cell phone ran out of memory so the video ends abruptly before I finish the job. Sorry! In the end, the drum sounded much better and had a balanced A-440 sound.
