House of the Dragon Season 3 Leaked Scenes - Criston Cole’s Death | Game of Thrones Prequel

In House of the Dragon Season 3, Criston Cole will meet his end when he faces Rhaenyra Targaryen’s forces, made up of Cregan Stark’s Winter Wolves and the Rivermen.

In the House of the Dragon Season 2 finale, we saw Criston still on the march towards Harrenhal, the largest castle in Westeros, which is under Daemon Targaryen’s control, and where Daemon has gathered a huge army.

Early in Season 3, after defeating Ser Oswald Wode and Lords Darry and Roote by the shores of the Gods Eye, Criston's host will find Harrenhal abandoned by Daemon when they finally arrive at the castle along with Aemond Targaryen and Vhagar. Aemond sees this as a great victory, but is outraged upon learning that Daemon had flown away on Caraxes to aid Rhaenyra with the fall of King's Landing. Meanwhile, Daemon’s army at Harrenhal does not simply wait for Criston and Aemond to arrive; instead, they abandon Harrenhal to attack the Lannister army in the west. They succeed in annihilating the entire Lannister host in the Battle by the Lakeshore, though with heavy losses.

All of this is going to happen at the beginning of Season 3 of the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon. Later, Criston will urge Aemond to retreat south and join the host of Greens led by Lord Ormund Hightower and Prince Daeron Targaryen. Aemond will refuse, and Criston will march south from Harrenhal alone with his remaining army to join the Hightower host, traveling along the western shore of the Gods Eye.

Criston will be ambushed by Rhaenyra’s loyalists, made up of Cregan Stark’s Winter Wolves and the Rivermen. Criston will hold a parley with the three leaders, offering to surrender if they promise to spare the lives of his men, but he is refused. Criston will then challenge the three of them to fight him at the same time, but he is refused again, and archers strike down Criston the Kingmaker with arrows. Criston’s army is destroyed in the Butcher’s Ball. Criston’s head will then be brought on a spear to the First Battle of Tumbleton.

Season 2 was supposed to have 2 more episodes but the showrunners had to cut it bc HBO refused to give them more budget. So if season 2 had episodes 9 and 10 as originally planned, this season would have been epic with Fall of Kings Landing and the Gullet.

For a series that started out SO well, be it GoT or HotD…Warner and HBO have managed to ROYALLY fuck George RR Martin’s works and drop the ball so badly. I’m hoping season 3 is better but if they’re gonna restrict it to 8 episodes and implement the same budget constraints, it seems unlikely. Not to mention waiting another quarter century for it to get here
