AUDIO NOTE - Due to some of the Music Content in this Tuner's Demonstration, the Audio has been muted between 0:41 to 2:16 due to Copyright issues. Also, it could be blocked to folks in Germany and apparently they'll be Pop-up Ad's.

In this vid, is a nice example of a LUXMAN 5T50 Frequency Synthesized FM Tuner, part of the acclaimed Laboratory Reference Series (LRS) by LUX Corporation. I had acquired Two (2) of these a number of years ago while putting together a set of the LRS Components. Figured I do some A/B testing with some of their LRS siblings.

This gear is pushing 38 years old as they were manufactured in Japan in the 1977-1978 timeframe, 6 years prior to the company’s sale to Alps Electric Co., which resulted in their 16 year hiatus from High End Audio.

Below is a list of gear that was utilized to demonstrate the Tuner;

• Amplification – Luxman 5M21 Power Amplifier
• Pre-Amplification – Luxman 5L15 DC Integrated Amplifier ( Used in place of 5C50 DC Integrated Pre-Amplifier)
• Tone Control – Luxman 5F70 DC Tone Control Amplifier
• Power Output – Luxman 5E24 Peak Level Indicator.
• Source – Luxman 5T50 Frequency Synthesized Tuner x 2
• Speakers – Polk Audio SRS 3.1TL

Best if viewed in HD, Enjoy!

Great set. I have that set, but with the 5T10 and no 5L15 but the 5C50. It is still looking good, however it's not connected at the moment. But I wonder if I ever will sell it. What a great design, including the internal system. (It's based on four pillars, what are also the feet. Everything is mounted around that.

And it's partly still better then much Luxman devices made after this LRS series.
