Mike Gurr heads to Detroit to check out the all-new Ford Escape, the second-best selling Ford. The all-new Ford Escape is bigger with a new look and updated interior. The Escape will be sold as a 1.5L turbo, a 2.0L and two hybrid models, including a plug-in hybrid.

Buy the 2019 while you can. This one you can't tell if it's a fiesta, or a Ka, or a 2018 Focus or whatever.

Previous gen is way better looking inside and out. They stepped back with design but obviously this 2020 model will have more tech inside. I think the best looking Escape of all gens is the “13-16” Titanium.

I like the interior. Exterior is decent. Multiple powertrains. Looks like it could do well in the segment. Hope it is competitively priced.

Ford stopped selling sedans! But with newly designed cars such as the new escape, they are right on track to go out of business in the SUV segment as well! 😂

No ventilated seats, no 360 camera. I assume you will have to get the new Lincoln Corsair to get those features (or a CX-5 signature model).

This looks really, really good. The sloping roof and C-pillar remind me of a shrunken Cayenne.

Almost looks like the Focus mk4 we don't get in North America. I'm surprised at how car-like it is, but I'm guessing that is to differentiate it to the upcoming Bronco, another compact SUV that is more like the Wrangler.

If Ford get the pricing right, that PHEV is going to sell like hot cakes in the more urban locations of BC. Gas is so expensive, and a 45km range is excellent. The styling is a bit meh, but the interior is way more refined than Mitsubishi, the only other competitor offering a PHEV SUV in the mainstream market. If Ford execute right, and the powertrain delivers, they could have a big winner there.

They appear to be gearing this thing up for ... the urban youth club. Bongos, skateboards, jamming, documented perigee dog, weed cap wearing, and bearded.... up-and-coming individuals... no doubt. But in reality those people will likely be buying Subaru’s and Tesla’s. The Escape will most likely be parked in a Walmart or some primary school parking lot. Retirees and over stressed families will be its realistic market. Thanks for the update video.
