Maria’s final death was so much more emotional and dramatic in the first one! But I like that Maria didn’t use the entire can of hairspray in the remake

The original elevator scene has more emotion behind it but I think the new one still works (other than the glitch that can happen where you can suddenly appear ahead of Maria during the escape but oh well) and is more conveying shock. Like this woman who looks like your wife just got ended in front of your eyes. I think the silence of it all works with the shock

I think the original did the final scene better James was genuinely horrified Maria would die and you see more of pyramids action knowing for sure she died instead of being locked on her the whole time.

I feel like in the remake James’s scream during the Dual Pyramid Head scene had a bit more emotion to it, sounds more frustrated and broken

I think the original handled the elevator scene better and James emotions

I like the detail of the blood running down from her and onto the platform below in the remake after she gets speared.

Why does the remake lack the impact from both of the stab? From Maria's reaction to the camera's movement, the remake feels so much more static than the original.

As much as i like the Remake, how much they put into it to keep it close to the OG...these Cutscenes and some more were MUCH more better in the OG.
OG over Remake when it comes to this for sure.

The only thing the remake does better in these scenes is show Maria's hair being affected by gravity as she hangs upside down. Other than that, the OG wins out for showing characters being rightfully/understandably terrified as Pyramid Head threatens them. New James and Maria are entirely too calm in these situations - why are they so quiet/calm?

The voice acting in the remake in these scenes, especially Maria's, feels emotionless tbh, as well as the facial expressions. Like in the elevator scene and the judgment, she got stabbed by a goddamn spear and sword and she's just relaxed.

The “leave us both the hell alone “ was better in the OG, but James reaction to her death before the boss fight is better. He is just so tired, mentally drained and unstable as hell.

Wow, the original seems to handle the camerawork and motion a lot better. It is like the new one just turned down the gamma and then tried to hard to look like the movies. Not what I expected, and thanks for sharing!

I didn’t mind the chase in the remake, what I HATED was the ambience after, when you leave the elevator in the original the hospital is dead silent, only the sounds you make and the music are audible, it’s like the world goes quiet to torture you with your own thoughts processing what just happened, it hit me like a ton of bricks in the original and I stayed in the hospital for a good while processing what just happened while the music played. Imo the hospital still having creaks and sounds in the remake plus the music being so quiet completely killed the emotional impact for me, idk if this is too much of a nitpick I was really enjoying the remake but this makes me not want to continue playing, it soured the remake for me a bit.

I like both scenes. But the elevator in the OG is much better. Something about him turning his back on the elevator doors after seeing this horrific thing happen to maria, almpst as if he doesnt care what could be behind the doors when they open, really hammers in the emotional weight he feels. Considering the hospitalnos full of monsters. Love the remake overall

Dude the OG so had more emotion than the remake, why didn’t they include the screaming and James attempting to pull Maria through in the remake? That really sucks!

Guy's voice delivery was top notch and its hard to beat compare to Luke's. I mean sure Luke Roberts did absolutely knocked out of the park as James but Guy Cihi's voice was something impeccable

Why did they change the Pyramid head chase to a cutscene?
It felt so scary because it came out of nowhere in the original, it was so good!
In the Remake they literally announce his appearance and you cant even see him chasing after you because you are looking forward.
Also, why is Maria behind you when you reach the elevator when clearly she is in front of you the whole chase?
Some stuff just doesnt make sense

I played and finished both and, in my opinion, is better in the remake for the simple fact that the death is far more grsphical and raw in the remake. You can see the exoresion on Maria's face while she dies, the spear going through, the blood splattered on her face and dripping. If you cannot admit that is just because of nostalgia

The original was over the top in most instances, and I know people say "oh yeah it's because this and that" but let's be honest, it's just budget voice acting and bad script haha. That being said, the remake needed a bit more of emotion during the hospital corridor scene. The original conveyed this better. The twin Pyramid scene in the original is more cruel and I kinda prefer it to the remake's, but I prefer the remake's voice acting in this scene better. Maria's voice actress in the original is better, but I prefer Luke Roberts' performance over Guy Cihi's.
