Tbh ever since she left RCA she’s been on a roll; when she gain creative control over her music the quality shot all the way up

I feel ya. It’s like if a artist isn’t at Beyoncé level then she’s not valued or isn’t successful at all. Sis be making moves & gets her shine when need be. Independent at that! So she really collecting her own coin

Tinashe is one of my favorites. I use to say she was underrated, but I would say she’s overlooked. She topped several year charts from many publications.

basically tinashe knows who she is and what shes capable of. shes not changing herself nor making generic music to please people. her real fans like myself will accept who she is and what she brings to the table. all her songs and albums classic. videos are awesome

From what I've seen, mainstream fans seem to ruin good things and somehow when they have you they can either decide what's good and not. I recently got into Tinashe's music and i never paid attention to the numbers, just the quality of music. Loved 333.

Great video! As someone who used to be a fan of indie music and is now getting into mainstream R&B (and pop) music, I’ve found this difference very interesting: Among fans of the former, it is generally accepted that there’s not necessarily a clear correlation between commercial success and quality. Among fans of the latter, charts, sales, streaming numbers dominate the conversation and sometimes leads people to completely dismiss anyone who is not at the top of the charts - and I’ve seen people do this with Tinashe herself. That’s not to generalise too heavily, there are obviously indie music fans who put way too much stock into individual critics’ lists and there are R&B fans who care for the art more than the product.

Tinashe is one of my favourite artists and as long as she is doing well and is able to continue creating high quality music that is recognised as such by her fanbase and critics, I don’t think anyone could ask for more. If anything I believe it has positively impacted her art that she (or her label) is not chasing #1 hits.

This is your first video?? You're so good. I agree with what you're saying, people act as if you're not Ariana Grande than you're a complete failure e.g people like Sabrina Carpenter, Hailee Steinfeld or Madison Beer.

She’s had a successful world tour with sold out shows around the world, was on Forbes list 30 under 30 while releasing two solo albums independently! This list goes on…

I love tinashe. She's such a great artist. I used to say that she's underrated but now I see that she's overlooked bc she can be misunderstood. She has her own way of doing things and you see that in her videos and music in general. She's gonna have a bigger platform and reach more people but people have to stop comparing her to others. She's her own person. I will always support her underrated or overlooked

subscribed! love your energy! As a huge Tinashe fan, this is all valid but I do believe that she doesnt get the respect that is more than deserved. She really does have an unmatched talent, and it's just really unfortunate that she didn't have proper support from RCA. HOWEVER, in an alternate universe where things might have played out differently after the success of "2 On", we might have ended up with some watered down BS records to appeal to the masses. And therefore we would not have the absolute masterpieces that are Songs For You and 333... so in that case, everything happens for a reason and she is THRIVING as an independent artist. I think anyone that has seen this girl perform live can say that she does not half ass anything!

Thank you for clearing this up. I get so tired of people saying everyone and everything that isn't popping or doesn't have a high view count is underrated. They need to learn the definition of that word.

I liked the delivery style and the points you made. I had no idea it was your first video until I saw it in another comment. Great job!

I feel this and my friend got me into Tinashe. I like her voice and style so much. A lot of what you said really voiced how I been feeling with even international celebs that I enjoy (or used to enjoy strongly) like BTS and other kpop stars. It is something that makes me feel as if I am having this quick rise in fame and recognition for them be seen as a burden on them and makes their art hard to enjoy. I think a lot of things are going too fast for celebrities in general these days and I just feel like I never know what's going on anymore so I just take it in when I have the time and energy. Which isn't often since I'm an adult now and no longer in my schooling years.
