Smolenski Park Prairie Restoration - October 16, 2024

A mid-autumn hike around the 15-acre Smolenski Park prairie restoration. Not much blooming anymore aside from a few goldenrods and one or two new england asters. But the prairie was glowing with native grass seedheads. Indian grass, big bluestem, little bluestem, side oats grama, and canada wild rye. I've been keeping an eye on the progress of this prairie since before it was even seeded and it's been amazing to see it transform into beneficial, endangered habitat.
