Disposable leaf plates

A German company is producing disposable plates entirely made out of leaves as an alternative to plastic packaging. One plate, on average, costs around 50 cents and is 100% biodegradable.

Go to any temple in south india or visit marriages or special occasions in rural india, you'll find lot of varities of these leaf plates. Don't say you invented these.

Pandan leaves, lotus leaves, banana leaves, Dillenia Suffruticosa and many other leaves were used as plates and packaging in ancient history. This is just a modern (and expensive and high class) version of what is already disposable.

Many countries in Asia (Indonesia, India etc.) using this method thousand years ago. Without machine and any modern technique or 50 cent for just a leaf😑. It's not something difficult, western need to learn to be more elegant and efficient😑

Actually this plates are originally of God Shree Jagannath. In India there are 4 Dham:
1.Badrinath: Here God Vishnu meditates.
2.Dwarka: Here God Vishnu Rules.
3.Puri: Here God Vishnu eats.
4.Rameswaram: Here God Vishnu sleeps.
From many centuries sweet foods are offers to God in Puri dham

But the banyan leaf plates are originally from kiskindhya region of ramayan

When I was child .. the leaf plate was used in occasion. But now foam plate replace it..😶

We also would still packed rice in leaves called'lamet' here in Meghalaya..we purposely grow the leaves for commercial use
