As an authistic person myself, I love these kinds of books. It's a shame that I'm visually impaired. Would love to see your illustrations.

My son was diagnosed with ASPD years ago, and after much self reflection and hindsight into my own hyper creative yet chemically destructive checkered past?
My psychiatrist and I concluded that I've more than likely been living all this time undiagnosed with a mutually identical neurodivergence.
Social anxiety, partial nonverbal communicational blindness, OCD behaviors, obsessive hyper focus, attention deficiency, addictive tendencies and so on...
Fortunately, other that my nasty lingering cigarette habit and ritualistic two glass brandy night cap?
I've successfully transitioned from a previous hopeless case junky to now being completely elicit narcotic free going on 6 years. Cold turkey. No 12 steps. No meetings.
Complete 180 degrees. No looking back.
Anyways...
My son turns 11 in a couple weeks, and as awkward as that time can be for any parent?
I historically believe that's truly when my personally dark downward spiral began to take effect.
So, I'm honestly just grateful for the opportunity to potentially apply the knowledgeable & wisdom I obtained throughout my own personal mishaps and shortcomings within the context of a positive guiding light. Not that it's going to be easy, but at least he's not going to be flying completely blind as I was.

Autism for many can simultaneously be a debilitating curse, as well as a miraculously liberating gift.
For example, I excelled as a child early on within the graphic arts. I won many awards. Attended an acclaimed local art tuition after public school, but around the time I was 12-13?
Music took over, and I obsessively taught myself drums, bass, guitar, and piano/keys within a relatively short period. All by ear. Theres that aforementioned "hyper focus". Ha!
I am fully aware BTW that this comment is potentially rambling on, but the point I'm trying to make is...
As a parent? I just desperately want to help guide my son into his own unique creative outlet. It dose not have to be music per say, or art in general. I just want him to find something he can make his own and hang his hat on. As any father would.
Ya know?
Anyway, as you can clearly notice? I am obviously more than just merely appreciative for your selfless acknowledgement and sharing in regards to this topic, as it's something that I have personally experienced throughout my life, and it honestly just feels good to know that I'm not the only one. Because there was once a dark time in which the overwhelming social isolation and subsequent self doubt had inadvertently fooled me into believing as much was so.

Ok. Wowzers. Ha!
If this freakin longwinded comment doesn't prove that I'm freakin' clearly on the spectrum? I don't know what will.
LMAO!
Cheers mate!
Also, thank you.
I mean that sincerely.
G'day...

Congrats on the commissions, and especially for such an important subject. I would imagine the brief would have been very specific and trying to ensure the illustrations could not be misinterpreted quite challenging.

Hi Glynn this looks awesome. Is this book series geared more towards autistic adults or towards parents of autistic children?
