Aside from modern tradesman thinking they know literally everything there is to know about a completely different version of their trade with different technologies and methods, there is also the subset of people who are just extremely "impatient" for lack of a better word. People who can't imagine artisans spending months or years doing something because they can only picture doing it in a short time frame.

As a tradesman myself, brother to a master bricklayer, son of a master upholsterer (antique furniture specialist).

The claims those nutters make are an insult to masters of their trades past and present.

Absolutely...The one word the alternative history people don't understand is "SKILL".

Its insulting to our ancestors to just hand wave away their efforts and say "well, we couldn't do it today easily, so it MUST have been impossible back then".

Why do these self-proclaimed experts not asked traditional artisans? It's simple. It would prove the alternatives that they are wrong.

I like to point to the Hindu temple Iraivan in Hawaii when they say people can’t build things with simple hand tools. It was all built according to ancient Indian methods, the material used is white granite and only simple hand tools were used with no electricity of any kind. Construction began in 1990 and It was recently finished in the last year or two, it took approximately 30 years. It’s a clear example of amazing skill and craftsmanship combined with time and effort, all recorded and accomplished in modern times. They cannot deny it.

Also could a single one of them demonstrate how it isn’t possible to make it? Like plenty of people have demonstrated the opposite but all they have to go on is “old people couldn’t do it if i can’t.”

There's a guy that actually does use ancient methods and can move tons by himself with wood, levers, and physics.

"There is no way bronze age societies could have grown crops with their technology, they didn't have pesticides so they all would have been eaten by animals. Clearly, they must have had access to advanced technology in order to have farms."

It's xenophobia/bigotry. Generally, the people making the claims think themselves superior to the actual intelligence of the ancient peoples they're dismissing as incapable.

Alternative history sounds a lot like 'alternative facts'.

Thank you. Every time I see some id10t claim that the stone vases are to perfect to be made by hand I want to scream, because I can and have made them. No measurements required. It only takes a silhouette cut out of half a vases and then carve to fit. It's so easy it dumb but some people are still confused by it.

Just spoke with a 10, 000 year old stone Mason, and told him a joke about glass houses. He didn't get it.

One more thing: if they had technology and harder modern materials like steel or diamond cutters, why we never found any of that? If they had materials harder than granite, surely some of those would survive over mudbricks and sandstone?

Because what fun would that be? It's more fun to make stuff up that sounds amazing
