This is the first video in our free 16 week woodworking 101 online course.

Lesson number one is a basic introduction to the tools needed for woodworking. Since it is a long video we have broken it down into 8 conveniently short parts.

This segment covers the circular saw.

This is a specifically designed curriculum created to teach all of the essentials of woodworking to take someone with no knowledge to the level of a moderately experienced woodworker. The entire course is free and will be posted online. During the course we will also be practicing our newly developed skills by building projects. We will provide plans for all course projects free on our website.

The course will cover a comprehensive introduction to all necessary woodworking tools, lumber selection, adhesives, joinery, building methods, styles, sanding, finish prep, final finish, and much more…

Well done James. Not to many people would do what you are doing without a dollar value added to it. It is always a pleasure to see someone giving back when they are able to. I'm a big fan of this channel because of what you do and the fact that the whole family is included. I'm a bit advanced for the first few videos but I will watch them, you never know what you can learn or little things that I can pick up. Keep up the good work.

I was told once in a management meeting that Knute Rockne would start every Notre Dame foot ball training season with a back to basics day. He would explain what a foot ball was, what the object of the game was, what the equipment did and what the job of each position was.
I like the approach you use, I realize I have forgotten so many of these basics of tools and woodworking. It is nice to have this kind of refresher course.
Please keep these great videos coming.

Thank you so so very much for doing this. I am a 45 year old woman who has always always wanted to have carpentry skills but no body would show me. The older I get the more I crave to possess these skills. Finally I just searched YouTube and you came up with this wonderful course and you do the most perfect job at teaching. Thank you so very much. You have no idea. What a jewel this is for me. May God bless you in return.

Thank you so much James for going to the trouble of explaining the basic things we need to know about the tools we use. There are endless videos out there that show us how to make things but not so many about how to actually set up the tools we need to use on the project. I am really enjoying your videos and I am certainly learning a lot on the way, which is giving me the confidence to try to make things. Thank you again.

Hi James. This is wonderful, you have such a great way of explaining things. I am a lady in my mid sixties and I have always wanted to learn woodwork. I have bought books but found them hard to follow. I cannot thank you enough for what you are doing. God Bless you.

Thank you Master James and Family. I'm taking it all in. I personally didn't need a course on the circular saw, however, I watched it in its entirety waiting for that trick of the trade that the common woodworker wouldn't know unless they actually worked as a cabinet maker. Thank you again in advance for the complete and FREE beginners guide to woodworking. I'm looking forward to the lessons.

Your the type of person that we all wish were commonplace on youtube. No pranks to pull in veiwers, no jumpscares or graphic content, just a guy sharing something that he loves. Subscribed.

Thank you James And to your family for taking the time to do this. I love longer format videos and a the detail you cover. I especially like that you don't ask anything in return like other channels.

This is awesome James! I loved it! I can't wait to show these to my fiance who is really getting into home DIY projects. She already loves watching your builds with me and is going to love these too. Thank you so much for putting all the time and effort into these. She and I both teach at the High School level and can really see the talent you have for teaching! It's not as easy as everyone thinks it is and sure takes a special type of person!! Thanks again!
