200 pages into Swan Song. Great so far. Would never have found this book without your channel, Mike!

Gone South is the right choice. Fantastic book. Much better than They Thirst, which was one of his first four books and the writer himself believes is not a fair reflection of himself as an author.

The first book he ever tried to write, Baal, got published and McCammon feels he ended up learning how to write in the public eye.

Loved Boys life, loved Swan Song, and now I’m reading The Wolfs Hour by Robert Mcammon. Really enjoying it so far

I read Salem’s lot, Dracula, Intensity, monster Hunter international, and pawn of prophecy. And the award goes to Salem’s lot.

Call of the Wild is such a beautiful read. I read it first when I was 13, got back to it again in my late twenties and it was such an experience.

I absolutely loved Half a King, but I just couldn't get along with the characters for Half the World and the other one so I really struggled. Had to go to audiobook to be a completionist for Abercrombie.

My book of the month was Demon in White. Absolutely loving the Sun Eater series!

Book of the month was Salem’s lot, hadn’t read it since 2012ish and loved it just as much.

Ditto on Swan Song. Strong emotional reactions to a book are always high on my list of what makes a book great for me.

Chronicles are excellent and may even be better than revelations..lots of great backstory revealed there.

If I look at the map of the Shattered Sea, it is obvius that I grew up in the area where (in an apocalyptic future) this takes place. I grew up in the region of Gästrikland, which in this book has been transformed to Gettland. And a map I found online suggest that Thorlby is infact Forsby - a small community outside the areas' largest town Gävle (Skefle in Abercrombies world), about 30 minutes drive from where I grew up. So that added an extra layer to the series.

I can't wait to get to Swan Song!! Nice wrap up.

We really enjoyed the Elvis movie. It actually made me really sad that things turned out for him like they did. I remember seeing a lot of his conce lots etc on TV in the 70s when I was growing up.

White Fang is also worth reading, it’s just as fantastic as Call of the Wild is

In June I finished Words of Radiance, Edgedancer, Oathbringer and Dawnshard. For me the book of the month was Words of Radiance and Dawnshard. Truly all of these books were amazing but, those two were just FANTASTIC.

I loved Swan Song. I'm so glad you've discovered Robert Mccammon. You might also enjoy Wolf's Hour. I keep wanting to re-read it to see if it's as good as I remember.

Yeah, I struggled to read The Three-Body Problem as well… I literally got that one as a gift from my brother and his missus so I knew nothing about it going into it.

I only got through 8 novels and one novella collection this June, with one of the novels being a re-read of A Dying Machine by Mark Tremonti. If you’re familiar with music by Alter Bridge or Tremonti then you’ll know who Mark Tremonti is 🙂

I’ve got two faves for this month 🙂 Billy Summers by Stephen King and The Island by Adrian McKinty 😊
