The Lydian Collective are a group of London-based musicians that perform live versions of the diverse instrumental music released under the Lydian Label. Featuring arrangements from the likes of Laszlo and Musicbox, the Lydian Collective explore the compositions in a more organic context, hopefully giving you a deeper insight into the compositional roots of the studio music.

It’s just a breathtaking and incredibly cerebral piece. Anyone find this a little reminiscent of PMG’s The First Circle, in particular the break and mood shift around 1:47, then the use of hand claps that, in the studio version, would begin around 2:42? FWIW, I slightly prefer the studio version (except that it obviously isn’t accompanied by the visuals depicting four totally hooked and intimately connected musicians) for the acoustic-sounding keyboard; feels more Lyle Mays-y, especially at the aforementioned break. And God knows anything sounding like Lyle Mays will always be on my turntable…)

Sophie has such good control of the structure of the song. She realy does some simple things to emphasize the melodies of the other instruments. Plus it's cute when she smiles! You can tell she's really into the groove.
