Historic North Pacific Cannery

The North Pacific Cannery near Prince Rupert is the oldest surviving cannery in BC. I paddle around the pilings and under these historic structures at the mouth of the Skeena river on the beautiful northwest coast.
Thanks for watching!

Worked there when I was a teenager 1981 with my grandfather. Stayed in one of the cabins over the water when we weren’t fishing. Can’t believe it still intact. Thanks for memories

Great film work, i like history like this always have .. I'm glad it was saved .. Astoria, OR just on the south side of the Columbia River has the same thing but the old cannery's were not saved but there are thousands of pilings in the water, great history and around 4 hours from where i live .. I think it's cool to give different angles and the use of a drone is neat, i just haven't got that far just yet.. Well done ..

So who's living today in the houses built for the employees of the cannery? At least from the air those houses look quite attractive. And what happened to the salmon cannery business? Is it still functioning during the salmon runs? If not, why not?
Btw I really like your videos! I live in Switzerland, a country which also has lots natural beauty. But BC is so much bigger and they have the ocean too. However, I have to say that judging from your videos the weather in this corner of the world leaves more sun to be desired.
