What’s the “The Mortal Instruments” movie about?
On the eve of her sixteenth birthday, the typical New York City teenager, Clarissa Fray (Lily Collins from Emily in Paris and Rules Don't Apply), has a shocking revelation: instead of being an ordinary girl, Clary discovers that she is part of a mythical race: the Shadowhunters, protectors of humanity. Against the backdrop of the eternal battle between good and the dark forces of evil, Clary will find herself amid a fierce war with the supernatural, when her mother, Jocelyn (Lena Headey from Game of Thrones and Imagine Me & You) , is abducted. In her desperate attempt to save her, the fellow demon-hunter, Jace (Jamie Campbell Bower from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and the Twilight saga), will be Clary's guide and guardian, as they both delve deeper and deeper into a nightmarish realm infested with mighty adversaries. Can they escape from the netherworld?

I like this Valentine then the one they have in the show because he's actually pretty badass and intimidating. I actually buy him as this big bad.

I would rank all of the Mortal Instruments on books I would want to reread somewhere between Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey, but damn, gotta admit the visual adaptations are silly as heck
