Clockwork Angel is a part of the prequel series that happens centuries before The Mortal Instruments series happens. They happen in the same world though with Shadowhunters and the like.

I got the first 4 books for Christmas, I'm on book 4 now and damn does it get weird in the first three your right. Clary got a lot better in City of Ashes for me at least and then even better in City of Glass - lol I just almost wrote city of glasses, whole other place. THANK YOU Elizzie for pointing out how pointless camping in the woods repeatedly ala deathly hallows. It shows how much Jace cares about Clary that he follows around after Clary instead of putting her in her place way earlier.

I just finished these the other day [after having a huge break between bones and ashes] :D I was so all over the place in City of Glass, so many twists my mind was in awe. Also found it to be my favorite out of the first 3.
Starting City of Fallen Angels tonight :D
