Today, we check out Micro Led, which, in my opinion, is the one above all in regards to TV technology, especially at massive sizes. The Samsung 140" Unibody is truly something to behold. You'll also see LG , TCl, and HISENSE showing their versions as well.

Check out this vid which is " Are projectors doomed"

Hey Brian,
every time I see a micro LED from Samsung I think: damn they look awesome! And then I start to think that I just want to see a normal movie on it to really judge the technology😂

Nice vid!

@Brian the reason you don't see any blur on this is because I'm pretty sure those LEDs can be refreshed at about 1920 Hz.

It's like being back in the days of the stadium Jumbotron's that used to use individual CRT bulbs for each pixel.

I wish these were coming out this year or next lol

Wait im confused. If it is self emissive then how doesnt it have as good blacks as an oled. It should sparkle even more considering it should be brighter. And if this is the case then can they somehow improve it and make it as good as an oled is? Either way good video

Really appreciated this video Brian 🙏 I was thinking of possibly getting the 89" ever since I saw Samsung's whole MicroLED line unveiled at CES, but the modular is a no go for me. So the 85", 900D it is for now and maybe in 2026 if the 89" is available in Unibody (and hopefully less than fifty thousand 🤞)

But once again you've helped me decide as usual with your informative content

Thanks a bunch Brian 👍

Amazing video Brian. Just something I found curious @ 8:00 you mentioned the stars didn't have the same sparkle as an OLED, why do you think this could be when the MicroLED is able to hit such extreme levels of HDR brightness vs. OLED?
Is it because of the content (maybe it wasn't mastered properly?) or perhaps the viewing conditions of the bright room? Or is there an inherent disadvantage in early MicroLED tech that the individual pixels "bleed" into their neighbours causing raised blacks or bloom in the adjacent pixels that should be off/black?

Thanks!

Micro is absolutely the gold standard, but cost has been its problem

Brian,
Whats its live to watch live sport on a 200 inch Micro LED TV compared to standard 50" LED TV ?

thank you for mentioning the "community", it's truly something special, us subscribers here, we feel like brothers, like we've known each other forever, I feel like that should I ever need my Brian tech therapy brothers to chip in so I could afford one of those 140 inch babies, they'd step right up and buy me one.

Micro while awesome with contrast/color is still a sample and technology. Dont expected smooth picture with anything below 120fps. Videos game consoles will still be at 60 to 120 for a whilem Yes there is pc but average consumer like plug and play. Bfi will add lag and movies will still stutter with out interpolation.I hope Laser Phosphor displays becomes a contender.

What I'm hearing now is that Micro LED may likely never move down-market and become affordable for the general consumer. They are just too expensive to produce and will likely stay that way. That means that manufacturers will probably just skip this technology entirely and move on to others that can be produced at an affordable price point. Micro LED will likely never make it to the retail segment, unfortunately.

Thanks for another fabulous update on the micro leds. At about $1, 000 an inch they are amazing! Can't wait for the new Lg G4 to come out next week! It is gonna be AMA-A-A-A-zing! Looking forward to your review on it before I purchase it. Take care.

Those have some purty pictures, and I was worried about spending the 7k for my Z9K 😅. Hopefully the tech trickles down to us with better prices and higher resolution with stupid brightness. I was home early today but missed this, I playing with a new security NVR that will work with almost any POE/ONVIF camera made seeing how the one I have now only works with the cameras made by Reolink who built my box. Looks great but their cameras get expensive fast and I can get generic Chinese ones that do everything cheaper.
I got my petcam pointed at my parrot Dobby to actually motion record to the new box, before it recorded constantly so that's a win, it wouldn't work at all with the main box and it was only 110 bucks shipped 👍

How many more years before micro LED TV’s are down to a realistic price point, or even just above a realistic price point

Whats the Unit price on that? Samsung's 140-inch MicroLED TV costs more than $150, 000

Definitely the pinnacle of modern display technology! But it will take an "orders of magnitude" change or changes in the manufacturing process to make these consumer-affordable. Maybe that change will come sooner rather than later. But we're still in a golden age of display technology - we have fabulous options in miniLED, QD-OLED and WOLED! It's a fabulous time to be an AV enthusiast.
