Hey there!

Welcome to the Totem Compass Quick Start Video.

There are 5 things you need to know about your Totem Compass.

The first thing to know is Tilt.

When your Totem Compass is in horizontal orientation or vertical orientation, it enters different states.

Vertical orientation is called Vibe Mode. Horizontal orientation is called Compass Mode.

When you look at your Totem Compass, the second thing to take note of is the Touch Crystal.

The Touch Crystal is your hub for managing all your Bonds, and you can also change its color. But remember, you can only use it when your Totem is horizontal—in Compass Mode.

The third thing you want to know about your Totem is this ring of light here. We call it the Halo. The Halo, when it’s hanging vertically, Vibes to the sounds around it, and when you pick it up in Compass Mode, it shows you the direction of your friends.

When you look at the back of your Totem Compass, we see the last two pieces of our User Interface: these two buttons down here at the bottom.

The button on the right side is the Power Button. You can use this to turn your Totem on and off, and also to enter and exit Eco Mode while your Totem is powered on. That button to the left of it there, in the recessed cavity, is the SOS button. That’s how you send SOS alerts to your Bonds.

Now that we’ve learned all about the User Interface, let’s start using these things. To turn on your Totem, simply click the Power Button on the backside. When you turn it on, your Halo displays a battery level indicator. You can see mine looks like it was about 80% charged.

Now that our Totems are turned on, let’s go outside! Totems use satellite connection to help you find your friends. So that’s why we recommend that you use them outdoors.

When you’re outside, make sure that you have a clear view of the sky overhead, and you can see the horizon. That’s how to make sure you get satellite connection quickly. It may take up to 10 minutes for your Totem to get a satellite connection, however, it’s often much faster.

While we’re waiting on a satellite connection, we can go ahead and Bond our Totems. To bond your Totems, simply bring them close to each other and hold the Touch Crystal simultaneously. The Halo will fill with a ring of blue light and begin to breathe. Then change to the color to show you your new Bond light before it collapses into a single point and is absorbed into your Touch Crystal.

Oh look! We have a satellite connection now! We can navigate! Let’s do it. Ready to play a game of hide and seek?

Now you can see Chase's bond light moving around my Totem's Halo in real-time. The bond light points you in the general direction of your friends. If you want to find them, just follow the pretty light and it will take you right to them.

When you are over 100 meters away from your friend, their bond light appears as a single LED on your Halo. Once you get within 100 meters, their light begins to spread. As you get closer, it spreads more and more until their light gets collected into your Crystal. Once you collect their light into your Crystal, you're in the right spot!

Now that we’ve covered navigation, there are a few other things to know about your Totem Compass.

To remove your Bonds, simply hold your Totem Compass in horizontal orientation and triple-tap the Touch Crystal. Then you can hold it, just like you did earlier, to remove that Bond. If you want to remove a different Bond, all you have to do is tap the Touch Crystal to cycle through your Bonds.

To send an SOS alert, press and hold the SOS button on the back of your Totem Compass for 3 seconds. When you are sending an SOS alert, a red light will begin to blink behind the button. This is what it looks like when you receive an SOS alert.

The last major feature to know about is Eco Mode. Eco Mode is a special state that can give you twice the battery life and help you get a satellite connection faster. To enter or exit Eco Mode, simply click the Power Button quickly while your Totem is powered on.

🎉 just got my shipping confirmation. I am so excited to use this at edc this year, congratulations on making a unique product that will make festivals more enjoyable. Being able to find friends or family at these big events is a huge upgrade. I'm excited to try it out and make some videos using the Totem Compass. I hope you all do a meet up at edc LV. Congratulations again much love from Collective Heartbeats in Nashville Tn.

A really novel and intuitive design.

As a parent of a speech delayed child with autism this looks unbelievably useful to our family.

This should have been an app, with precise guidance within bluetooth range.

Happy to have been an early adopter to help yall launch the product, but the user experience is really abysmal. At its core, the device just needs to get me to my friends. Touch sensitive controls on top of UI elements that are just lights are not intuitive. Please make the usability easier. I have such a hard time understanding what's evening happening when I turn on the compass and I can't for the life of me get two compasses next to each other to even navigate to each other. You have a good idea here but there user experience and execution is really awful.

Pretty disappointed so far. I bought 12 and none of them will pair with each other. They basically just blink random colors. The “bonding” long tap just times out. Apparently it needs satellite connection all the time or else it looses its connection to another device. 12 units and I can’t get a single one to pair

Is there a customer support that can help me with the updating process cause I believe that’s the reason they won’t pair I believe most of yours need to be updated

I got mine a few weeks ago and it’s s hard to get a satellite connection 2 of 3 got a connection but even the 2 with connection the compass will send me a complete opposite way than where the other one is located. It’s a very frustrating product to use.

The only thing I am missing is a subscription. Could you add one? If so, I would totally buy 2 instead of just one.

i thought totem used radio to gauge distance and direction, not satellite?

So will it work better outside to pair them up with others does it have to have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to work properly?

This appears to be a rebranded and redesigned Lynq tracker.

It's so niche yet it's based on community to work and be interesting.. i don't see how it could catch on it's way too specific. Ofc i wish it does catch, but very low hopes.

It's also very futile to me in terms of how it helps socializing so definitely not going to adopt it but why not could be fun for kids
