Ladino, also known as Judaeo-Spanish is a language spoken by the Sephardic Jews who were expelled from Spain over 500 years ago and setteled throughout the Ottoman Empire. Los Bibilicos is a beautiful song from the Sephardic Jewish tradition. The translation is: "In the trees the night-birds are singing, while under them sit those who are wounded by love." This song is in turn related to the Hebrew prayer Tsur Mishelo Akhalnu: The Almighty whose food we have eaten, praise Him, all who are faithful
