Fun and easy Jazz Blues Play-Along! Medium swing in A minor. Jam track starts at 0:46

Bruno Mars 24K Magic Guitar Remix

Medium Uptempo Jazz Blues in C

Easy Bossa Nova style Jazz Blues play-along (Am)

Come say hello:

Chord progression:

II: Am7 I Am7 I Am7 I Am7 I
I Dm7 I Dm7 I Am7 I Am7 I
I F7 I E7 I Am7 I Bm7b5 E7 :II

On the track, you will hear extensions of these chords - as is common in jazz of course :)

Scale suggestions:

A minor pentatonic scale - A C D E G (A)

A minor blues scale - A C D D# E G (A)

A minor scale - A B C D E F G (A)

F7 chords :

F Lydian Dominant - F G A B C D Eb (F)

E7 chords:

A harmonic minor scale - A B C D E F G# (A)

Or

Treat it as an altered chord and use the altered scale:

E altered scale - E F G Ab Bb C D (E)

The altered scale is the mode which starts on the 7th step of the melodic minor scale, so in other words - the notes of E altered scale are the same as those of F melodic minor scale :)

Arpeggios:

Am7 - A C E G

Dm7 - D F A C

F7 - F A C Eb

E7 - E G# B D

Bm7b5 - B D F A

Just been rocking out with this one, little bit of jazz and a lot of blues and soul. Gets me through in these dark days . Thankyou .

I don't know what it is about this key, but for some reason I just know where the sweet spots on the neck are, making it a lot of fun to riff and play octaves over. God bless Wes M - guy was a true American legend and pure genius!

This is great, I just lost the last hour or so playing against it with Native American flutes in Am. I probably wetted out every flute in that key I own 3 or 4 times over, had a great time. Thanks for sharing!

Super nice groove with some Wes Montgomery style chops thrown in. Great departure from just hard stomping blues. Helps immensely with timing and rhythm. Much appreciated.
