Taysom Hill Staying with Saints, but is he the Future?

Saints quarterback Taysom Hill will remain in New Orleans this year as the time for restricted free agents to sign their tenders has come and gone. Matt Moscona discusses the options the Saints have with Taysom Hill and his future with the Saints. With the NFL draft approaching, will the Saints look for a quarterback early on for their future?

Taysom hill is the future to me. There is no evidence to say he isn't the guy. I know it's just preseason but he looked great in preseason last year

You are so off dude. Payton tipped you when he said the QB of the future is in the building. Actually he did exactly what we all thought he would do: let Teddy go. Why? Because Hill is just better. Injury prone? Come on dude. The guy played every position for 3 years. Thats not even a valid statement. Also he is actually more like 27 y/o because there is a lot less mileage on his body. Dude this isnt even a point. Hill is the future Saints QB. Saints will NOT take a first round QB. In fact, they never will. QB as first round are way over hyped. Ok it worked with Mahomes and Mannings, but they are a tiny percentage of first round QBs. Neither Brees nor Brady were first round QBs.

I think taysum would be playing more snaps if he wasn't the real next guy. Just seems like we waste playmaking potential but I think it's just preservation.

Gotta look long term not right now, and another thing is really providing what other QB would come in at 3 and see from there I’m pretty sure that’ll give a QB from the draft I would but not Cam Newton or Winston

I think he will do better than anyone of the qb in the draft, what have they done in NFL ? T. Hill is way more harder than those rookies and only getting better under Bress wing, I'm glad alot of people are sleeping on him and he's way stronger, faster, and durable than the qb's in NFL that scramble in the pocket for way less $, even couch potatoes can get open and extend the play with that much time, o wait m. Thomas, cooks, sanders, Kamara can't get open? Smh + him and Murray sharing the back field, watch out, WHO DAT!

Thumbs up on the bra, Taysom Hill is an electrifying player on the feild, all the time he's been here under the starting quarterback #goatDrewBrees#9 so therefore he may be able to start here plus he's a running quarterback/ a whole lot more then just that simple kind of player. He'd be the main person on offense since he's quarterback but he'll have ten more other players on offense to drive the ball down the feild so I disagree with how you think about Taysom Hill!!!

I like what I saw from Taysom Hill last year especially the last game. Hopefully he can continue to improve this season so when Drew Brees decided to retire, he can step in. I would say the future still not clear and time will tell.

Taysom is the future, he’ll be the starter in 2021 after Saints win the Super Bowl, Brees retires to do broadcasting, and he’ll be signed to long term deal, ..🏈

I dont believe taysom will be a franchise quarterback because we just havent seen him play quarterback honestly but sean payton has passed up a bunch of quality quarterbacks which gives me hope hes good also I dont agree when you said sean didnt think he could start I think he just still wanted to use him in a different position

Drew brees shouldve retired, my opinion. yes hes been a great quarterback and yes he won a superbowl, but hes not the drew Brees of past . If you remove emotions and past performance then you can see why the saints need to decide now on the future quarterback and have that quarterback playing now and building the team around that quarterback. If the saints make it to the playoffs Brees will not take saints to a superbowl win .. yes it would be great and I'd be happy, but reality is this isnt going to happen. Is Hill the quarterback to replace Brees? Well he hasnt been given a chance to play much to prove it so we all just assuming if he can or cant be the starter. This is the year they need to give him a chance at more snaps as a quarterback. Now remember Brees was considered not to be a great quarterback years ago and after his injury the saints were truly the only team that was willing to sign him and give him a 2nd chance . So why not give Hill a chance and stop listening to the so called pros, they are wrong alot .

Don't know what y'all see in hill being a franchise qb he hasn't played full snaps as a qb since high school and the reason most 1 round qb don't pan out they are thrown in the fire their rookie year and think about most of them pick high so their trash teams hill would be a 31 year old rookie starting quarterback basically if we can get Jordan love let him learn behind brees year or two I would rather a rookie be a bust than sign hill to a mid level contract and he be trash and I know what yall gonna say hill makes plays yea as a runner or drew brees throwing him the ball
