No, it's not without its faults, but I do like the way Mazda do things -- their cars are stylish, have nice interiors and are pretty nice to drive. Personally, I'd go for a well specced CX5, but I'd trust one of these over a German brand anyday.

CX-60 has something badass in its design.

I really want Mazda to succeed for being brave enough to design a new 6 cylinder engine in this day and age, but it seems that the new engine used up all their development budget. It seems like it could do with a bit more polish, but I am impressed. at the economy for an engine with that displacement.

I supose you have had a bad day wen you did this review… I own a Cx60 and I absolutely desagree with some of your comment. It’s a great and pleasant car.

Let’s be logical. If you want to spend less you can buy Skoda Kodiaq or Seat Tarraco for 42000 euro mid spec and 150hp. If you go to the highest trim level and 200hp you can pay up to 55000 euro with some options. These are large cars, reasonable quality and engine. If you go premium to go with Volvo xc60 or bmw 3 with 190hp engine where for mid spec car you will pay between 62000 and 75000 euro as new. All of these cars will be equally fast from 0-100 or 80-120km. Why should you by the Mazda with 200hp, mid spec at 58000euro? No sense. You will buy it with the biggest 254hp engine and the highest trim level at 62000 eur. That car will be twice better in terms of systems, extras and the engine is from another space. Doesn’t have nothing in common with any below 200hp car as mentioned. What is my verdict- by the top Mazda cx60 for 62000eur which will be at the price of low spec basic engine Volvo or BMW and you will get much more in return. Equally spect D30 or D40 BMW will cost you at least 85-90000 euro and will be much better than any other car. But the difference is 20000eur with the Mazda. That’s why you should by the Mazda. If you want a slow car, you can get any other

Recently i‘ve driven the D200 and the PHEV back to back.
The CX-60 mass production did have a very rocky start and the quality and refinement of the car you get solely depends on the production date of the individual vehicle.

The PHEV‘s suspension was terrible when the car was launched and everybody stated that the Diesel was riding much better. Nowadays the PHEV has the much better suspension.

I’ll order the PHEV very soon 👍

Edit: ordered the PHEV on Dez 29th 👏

It wont make your steering wheel go back, it is rwd, it drives diffriently from fwd. The sound from this engine is beautiful. And no it does not struggle in normal mode🤦‍♂️ i have tested this car a lot and it is fenomenal.

Adaptive cruise control should really be standard in every car. It's probably the best feature to have come along this millennium, in the same way that Stop & Start isn't. What were they thinking, selling a 50k+ car without it as standard?

I have to applaud Mazda, a small independent manufacturer generally known for econoboxes and small sports cars, for introducing a straight-six diesel in the times we are living in.

I have 2021 CX-5 194G Advantage. In a year, I want to replace it. Today test drove CX-5 Diesel 200HP as candidate. I simply can't understand this review. Completely wrong. I watched this review first and then test drove car. I almost write off car from the list because of this review. Did you got car with some issue? Engine is great. Gearbox is exactly what you want from these type of car. What did you expect? Linear, has enough power, yeah, if you are gentle with accelerator, it will ramp up power in linear way. Step on it, and it goes very well. I live in Germany, tried max speed, 220 indicated (how much is real have no idea), not an issue at all. Comfort cruse, around 170-180 without drama. Assist systems are good. Not on Tesla level, but comparable with BMW for example. Not better, not worse. My only complain is when you remove foot from accelerator, that engine shuts down, and as soon as you press it again, it restart. It is annoying. But after 20 km, i get use to it and manage not to do that. Or simply switch to sport mode. My choice will be Exclusive-line with 2 packages which has everything like high trim models apart from leather seats and memory functions. I hate leather seats. And that is few EUR less than 55K MSRP. For that amount of money, you can't buy anything comparable from German car brands, others even do not offer this. And for me it is a big deal is it 6-cly and FWD vs RWD. This alone is very unique.

Diesel is amazing. I love my 1.6 diesel and this version of the Mazda CX-60 is truly very special for me. What Mazda needs to do is simply add a 4wd version, some off road capacity through differentials or/and electronics and there you go you have a mini Toyta Land crusier at 60k, which will make it the car of choice for the sensible family man. Way to go Mazda!

Seeing it live, it's much more impressive than an equivalent BMW or even a Lexus. I wouldn't mind having it on my shortlist. :)

Every other reviews say the diesel 3.3 is the best, very close to the 3.3 petrol one, the hybrid models the the worse .

The diesel cx60 is very good in Australian euro 5 spec. No ad blue here. The 6 inline petrol is the one I purchased here. The petrol has better reponse for overtaking out on the regional back roads here. With petrol here being 20to 30cents a litre cheaper than diesel. It is virtually the same running costs. The diesel costs $1, 800 Australian dollars more an higher servicing costs, so that's why the petrol is the way to go here.

Marek could you explain what changed your mind between your review of the PHEV version and this one? If I remember correctly you had a very positive impression of the CX60 in your first review, even praising its value for money. Thanks!

Mazda diesel engines do not have a good track of reliability, its best to stick to their petrol engines.

I hope the CX-70 will be improved when released in the US later this year.

Diesel is still absolutely amazing if you are doing even moderately long journeys. I love my 1.6 diesel and will keep it even though its the best time to sell cars now. P.S. @Marek Drives in English, ive recently done 2500km in Poland on a road trip with my 1.6 Peugeot diesel and it was amazing. I love your 140km/h ( that everyone drives 150) highways and the lack of stationary speed cameras! Also are the highways always free on weekends or was that something specific to the holidays? Anyway, amazing country, great castles and building and the people are very nice. Totally recommended, only wish is that you had the euro as currency so it is easier to pay everywhere.

If you don't mind, could you please review the Citroën C4X 130 hp? I've seen your review on the C4, but the C4X has a totally new shape and seems to be more practical.
