Galant Response/Reflex

Onset: 32 weeks gestation
Integration: 2 months but may persist
Position: Prone, in normal alignment, head midline
Procedures: gently stimulate along a paravertebral line about 3 cm from midline and from the shoulder down to buttocks. Stimulate both sides and give stimulus repeatedly
Response: Ipsilateral flexion of the trunk (concave on the stimulated side) and turns head toward the stimulated side

* Look at his hips shifting left and right. He doesn't show a strong response but you can see a small ipsilateral flexion and hip shift.
* This baby boy is 5wks 5days.

Holy cow, I still have this! If ever someone is rubbing my back, and touches my back/side in a certain way, I can not help but extend and try to arch away from it! It's not like I'm ticklish- it's involuntary! I can stop myself from reacting to something that tickles. This is different. *Sigh* validation...
