Dude! I want more entrepreneurs to talk about this. A lot of people don't need to build a business. They just need therapy. I have been to Therapy and I try to go at least once a year for maintenance. Some of my clients are therapist. I will share this video often because it's an important message. Thanks for making the video!

My best friend committed suicide in my teens, I had a nervous breakdown in my early 20's, depression throughout 30's kept looking to spikes of rush and vices to get by and quiet the raging storm and hurt of turmoil within. Finally got Therapy in my mid 30's and all sorts of lightbulbs and flickering of feelings and emotions began to claw their way to the surface of my consciouness. Big props to you Noah for doing a video like this. these are the sort of videos that make an impact and plant seeds and will just possibly maybe even save someones life someday.

As a therapist and a person in therapy, I love this! Thank you for normalizing therapy for all of us.

Dude I always said I would go to therapy and just pushed it off. Earlier this year I was on the verge of a burnout, after a breakup, what am I doing in my life questions just major negative mindset.
Then I started therapy. Once a week for like 3 months then bi-weekly since then, and it’s the best thing I’ve done!
My outlook in life is so positive. I have clear goals I want to achieve. I have drive, clear focus. It was the best decision I ever made.
But you have to be ready for it and want to have it, just it will bring change into your life.

I don't have any like REAL problems in my life, but you're making me consider giving it a shot to see if I can learn something about myself that I didn't know. Thanks!

I'm really glad that you made this video. So often people think everyone else is ok and they are the weird ones if something is going on... when really it is happening with everyone. As we share that we are ALL going through different things and need the tools to process and get through it, we can see how helpful therapy is. It will also give us a chance to be there for each other and really see each other at a core level which will help form true connections!

This video is so inspiring! Thanks for sharing something that could be personal or "expose" yourself. One of my favorite things I've learned from therapy is: Anytime you think "I should" be doing this is a moment to stop and re-evaluate why. Why do I feel like this thing is necessary? Have I been conditioned to think I "should" go to college or I "should" get married and have 2.5 kids....Just my 2 cents. Love your videos as always Noah!!

Thank you, Noah for having the courage to bring up & discuss therapy.

Therapy may scare some people off, change the name to coaching or consultation.

You are looking for someone with answers & an outlook that you have or maybe haven't considered to be a good answer or path that will be OK for you to follow with confidence, with hopefully great results & not another mistake to learn from, which you could have done without the upfront expense or having someone else you can blame for what maybe negative results.

If you find your therapist/s, coach/s, consultant/s are working well for you & in harmony with your mentor, go for it.

Sometimes it can be quite lonely running a business.

If they can't or aren't helping you with your inquiry, stick with them while the relationship & self benefit & business benefit are working then move on, while journaling the elements that did work during the interaction.
You might require them again for that subject in the future.

As time goes on your own experience will grow so they will not be needed & you can save your money & rely on your own know how.
You can now help others with that troublesome problem.

Noah, your are only looking at $1500 / year or under $30 / week.
Some say that those in business should invest about 10% of earnings per year on self development.

Are budgeting 10% of earnings for yourself, your self advancement & improvement, Noah ?

Please feel free to contact me for any reason, advice therapy or coaching, at anytime that you need another voice in your hear.

Love your brave post Noah.

Dear readers, how do you feel about having feelings, enough to be enlightened by a therapist ?

Everybody should have some therapy or similar type stuff! If you get angry, disgusted or upset about anything, it merits to look into it. Things don have to be bad to go to therapy, it’s ok to optimize

You know how people say, “you can’t love yourself you can’t love anyone else “
That used to discourage me! I can’t ever love myself but then I thought how I love my children. I love them with all their flaws and mistakes! I don’t need to be perfect or great, hold onto my fk ups.. I don’t hold my kids mistakes against them!

I DEFINITELY DO NOT FEEL that I’m ok just the way I am! I am always overwhelmed feeling that I have to build a business before I run out of money from PUA and my business from before covid, cuz I can’t go back to it. I am scared and feeling like every day is a failure ’

Talking about mental health and the entrepreneur life is good! We face some struggles and no-one wants to talk about them, it's hard work and affects your personal and professional life. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I really resonated with your comments about slowing down and enjoying life! There is a pressure and temptation to want to work all the time, when you are perhaps not making as much as you'd like and so you feel guilty. Then you get BurntOut! True story, anyway. Love it and thank you!

Wow... thank you for sharing your experience. I always thought therapy was for when horrible things happen. So I associated it with trauma in my life. Once I started my business though, I have found there was no way to avoid flaws in my behavior, thinking, etc- it all shows up in my business. So I found a therapist that called herself a high performance coach, and it really shifted my thinking about therapy and even my business coaches I seek out, offer insights rather than nuts and bolts tactics. Like you said, it’s a mental gym. And like cycling, running, or business, much of success is mental. And then you add that fulfillment piece...

I also loved your takeaways about permission and relationships. I try to take ownership of all the things that go wrong but it’s such a gift to hear when it’s actually not my crap to own.

I love all of your content. Love that you hit all of the areas of life around your business. I went to Ramit Sethi’s conference the couple years he had it and he talked about a “rich life” and since I actively assess and evaluate what that means to me. Therapy is a great tool to help you create that and though books are great, the human interaction is a must for extra magic.

I think it's powerful to see a man in a leadership position start a discussion about therapy and normalise it. 🏆 I agree shopping around is key, because it's about synergy and critical thinking is important too, because therapists may be qualified, but in the end you're the only expert on you. For me, therapy's like panning through dirt 85% of the time to find diamond insights 15% of the time. Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) was the most useful for me, because I didn't just want to talk and label patterns with psychological terms. I wanted real change and for that to occur, I had to take the insights and apply them to my everyday life through consistent behaviour change, monitoring and shifting my internal dialogue, and being selective about my relationships and environmental conditions. In the end, therapy wasn't the fix I thought it might be, it was just another tool in a growing tool kit to help me to do the work. 🧠 I really like the 'Live however you want' ethos. It's everything, because the most common deathbed regret is said to be, 'I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.' If death is the unavoidable end goal, then surely the only worthwhile approach to the game is to really LIVE it to the full while you have the chance! Waiting until retirement beyond 65 is a con. It seems the more I do it in my own weird way according to my own values, the happier and more fulfilled I become. I just have/had to learn to not take judgment and criticism personally, especially when it comes from people who don't share the same values and don't live a life I would aspire to emulate in any way. 🐛 .... 🦋
