The Sunless Citadel is an adventure module for the 3rd edition of the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game. The original book was published in 2000, and was written by Bruce R. Cordell, with cover art by Todd Lockwood and interior art by Dennis Cramer.

Lyrics
They say a mighty fortress sunk into the ground in ages long ago
Within its broken halls deep within the earth a cursed stake was sown

A seedling then took root
Up grew its evil shoots
Upon on its limbs a wicked fruit

They say that deadly thorns await in bioluminescent briars
And an unholy outcast feeds the tree whomever it desires
A legion of twig blights
Rise in the dead of night
To sate their bloody appetite

But you never know if what they say is true
Until you go below and see what waits for you

They say from the ledge you smell the smoke of blazing dragon fire
And savage rats and goblins feast upon the bones of all those who inquire
But once a year we’re told
A precious apple grows
Deep down within the twilight grove

So very cool. This has always been one of my favorites among Bruce's adventures! Very worthy of being memorialized in a cool song.

Sorry for commenting on this old video. But this song melts my face. This and red hand of doom are In constant rotation. Thanks so much for give me some love to the third edition. This was actually my first third edition adventure and my paladin got to kill the big bad by himself with one eight point left as everyone else was down and bleeding out! … brings back the Memories. Thanks so much for everything you guys do.

These songs and videos are the best creations of any productions today, including anything you find on Netflix, theaters, etc.
