I found it! I had to reset my printer to factory settings and that shut off the automatic firmware updates. I truly do not like HP products. It was working fine for two years and all of a sudden this update problem crops up.

Mine says the feature has been locked by the person that set up the printer. I’m the one that set it up and never locked anything. If it’s locked that means it can be unlocked, but how? I will never purchase HP anything again. I hate their laptops too

In my officejet pro 7730 the automatic printer update is fixed. Although the other options are readable, they can not be chosen. Any suggestions pleasE?

When i did this i get the message"this feature has been turned off by the person who set up the computer" and I cannot stop the updates. What can be done to overcome this?

Hi there, I have this model of printer. I would like to disable automatic updates however following the instructions in the video leads me to the correct page but the automatic update option is not there in the list. any suggestions? When I try to turn off automatically looking for updates and go back to exit the screen displays the settings have not changed; Printer Update Options remains on "AUTO".
